It was a good thing to have because kids thought it was real so it makes the experience better. My take is that the Finding Nemo rehab will breath some new life into the Living Seas.

Did you know that years ago a Guest tried to sue Disney by saying that they suffered damage done to their ears from riding the hydrolators. What a hoot, considering the hydrolators do not move at all. They jostle youa little, but do not ascend or descent at all.

Here is a good opinion of the Changes to Living Seas and Epcot in general, and how its not all a good thing.

Just as a note, the chamber/tube that the divers ascend through is called a Lockout chamber. The Lockout tube held approximately 30-40 thousand gallons of water as I recall.

So has there been any more work reported on the SeaCabs? Haven't heard a thing and when we were there a couple months back it was all securely boarded up... Would be neat to get them back. And will we ever be able to actually go in the main entrance or is that yet another long term "project" like the SeaCabs?

I liked the seacabs because it was nice visual of all of the creatures before you were able to explore it on your own but I can see why they needed to get rid of it.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

Rain upon that planet Earth. And they rain ... and rain ... and rain. The deluge.
