Wow that is really cool that Disney adjusted the music spiels. From what I have seen it seemed like there were two groups of people that went all out and did the complete 24 hours at the park: Disney CMs who absolutely love the parks and hardcore Disney fanatics. IF I didn't have college I definitely would have been there from well before rope drop to after park closing.

I would have gone for the majority of the evening if my car hadn't done what it did... I hate I missed everything. I had every intention of going.

Did they do speciality food items (translation, special food but limited menus)?

That's pretty awesome that Disney took the time to play different stuff. I wonder how many people would have actually noticed that at all ~ good ears MadEye!MadEye wrote:One thing I noticed last night at MK was that all the lands were playing different music loops than normal. The front entrance was playing most of the music from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I heard the end credit score from Independence Day and the theme from Never Ending Story. The loop for Adventureland was somewhat short with Pirates of The Caribbean movies and some music from Aladdin. Couldn't tell what they were playing in Fantasyland, Frontierland or Liberty Square but it fit perfectly whatever they were.

I believe they did. I know that a lot of the counter service restaurants started serving breakfast (sorry, no menu info as I didn't even think of checking while there) and had themed treats during the night (cupcakes with the "one more Disney day" colors, a Mickey shaped cake on a stick (?).Wizzard419 wrote:Did they do speciality food items (translation, special food but limited menus)?
One thing I can say proudly though is that I am one of few who can say they've been on Snow White's Scary Adventure (since it is closing soon, I knew it would be cool to do) TTA, and Carousel of Progress after 3am.

At first, I didn't recognize Independence Day but I knew I knew it before I realized what it was and my girlfriend takes the credit for Never Ending Story (I recognized it but she confirmed it).Amy wrote:... good ears MadEye!MadEye wrote:One thing I noticed last night at MK was that all the lands were playing different music loops than normal. I never listen closely enough to background music to recognize it. But, isn't that the point of background music? To not really notice it?

As an information update there is some discussion being scheduled to explore the possibilities of having a 24 hour park opening being offered as a premium pay (like the Christmas and Halloween party events) special event. It looks like the huge attendance numbers in both parks caught the attention of the powers to be. I wonder what some of the board members would think about the frequency and pricing of such a special event? For example being offered once every two weeks with a price of $24.95?

Would that be in addition to the regular ticket price. So you would pay an additional $30 to stay from park closing until 6 am in the morning? Or you could buy a day ticket with the $30 built in to stay a full 24 hours in the park?JimB wrote:As an information update there is some discussion being scheduled to explore the possibilities of having a 24 hour park opening being offered as a premium pay (like the Christmas and Halloween party events) special event. As intriguing as that is, I can't imagine they would generate enough interest to keep a program like that going. They would have so much additional overhead with cast members' salaries and operating expenses. And I just don't think it would be enough of a novelty to get that many people to come.
That being said, even though I don't have any interest in paying more for the 4 or 5 hour Halloween and Christmas events, I probably might shell out that amount for a full 24 hours in the Magic Kingdom ~ assuming enough attractions were open to make it worthwhile.

I would have loved to viewed the sun coming up over the castle.
Re: MK open 24hrs on Feb 29, 2012 (?)
Never going to happen. While it was (somewhat) a success, most of the guests who were there for most of the night/morning were Cast Members. Most of the average guests didn't even know about MK being open for 24 hours that day, or even care for that matter. Not enough average guests willing to pay for staying in the park that long to make anywhere near the profit that MVMCP or MNSSHP do.JimB wrote:As an information update there is some discussion being scheduled to explore the possibilities of having a 24 hour park opening being offered as a premium pay (like the Christmas and Halloween party events) special event. That may or may not be but TMK has never been open 24 hours on leap day either. I could honestly see it as an answer to the summer heat in June, July and August as a special buy in event.
