I have.. I both love it and hate it. I love the first part of the ride, the music and animatronics and such, but of course I am not a huge fan of the drop. Since we go in mid February, we dont always get to it- we actually didn't ride it this year. Honestly if we had, I think I would have tried to conquer it as well. It all depends on the weather on the day that we happen to be at MK...
Another issue is that the leader of the group is in an ECV (a scooter, not really a wheelchair) so that really slows our pace, which means its hard to get back the before the line is way long.
I get so frustrated with Splash Mountain because I love everything about the ride...the music, the scenery, the views, the audio animitronics...but a lot of times I just don't want to worry about getting too wet on the ride so I have to skip it! I wish there was a non-wet version of the ride!

Cant they run it with little water on cold days? :)

For me, it isn't getting wet that I care about. I *LOVE* the Kali River Rapids! Its just that darn drop... *shiver*

I hate getting wet and walking around in wet clothes. That's what water parks are for.

All you have to do is either have a cheap poncho to put on...or a jacket with a hood.

Hey, as long as those animatronics in the Riverboat scene aren't working, that's one less reason to ride :( Also, a poncho is fabulous for staying dry on Splash Mountain. I don't even think the ride is that wet- I usually get way wetter on Kali River Rapids, but I wore a poncho on that last time and I barely got wet. You would be in fabulous shape on Splash Mountain in one.

I concur with this.. Kali is *WAAAAY* wetter than Splash. Usually unless you are in the first row or two, you wont get wet at all on Splash, usually except for your butt, because the seats are usually wet, but that isn't really all bad either. Especially in the Florida sun, you will dry super fast. A poncho is always perfectly fine to stay dry on Splash.

Unfortunately, I have the WORST luck when it comes to water rides. No matter what I try to do, I always seem to be the one to get completely soaking wet! lol And I really hate walking around in wet clothes! The one and only time I've been on kali River Rapids - I was so soaking wet afterwards that I had to buy and wear a pair of Mickey sweatpants because I refused to waste time going back to the hotel to change, but I simply could not wear my jeans any longer! what a mess! lol

Rides I won't ride... let's see... Space Mountain, Rockin' Rollercoaster, ToT, and Everest. I've ridden Splash twice and think that's it for life. Big Thunder is about as daring as I get. I'm a giant baby and think drops are about the worst thing ever. Then there's the motion sickness issue so no Mission: Space, tea cups, and CTX. Sigh.

If you think Splash Mountain is bad in WDW...try riding it at DL. The logs are single-file...and you straddle the seat. The end result is that a lot more water comes in on the sides and if you have a heavy person up front...you can count on getting soaked.

Oh, getting that soaked is NOT fun!! The first time I went on Kali, I was not expecting to get that wet, and I was in the unlucky seat that gets dumped on by the waterfall. I had to go buy a random Disney sweatshirt that was four sizes too big. I still have it :mickey: But that is definitely a valid reason for wanting to avoid water rides. My advice for riding Splash Mountain would be to sit as far back as possible, only the first few rows really get considerably wet, and it's drier and drier as it goes back further.

There's nothing I would flat out refuse to ride, but I can't remember the last time I rode the Tomorrowland Speedway, just out of lack of interest. Same goes for the generic rides over at DinoLand.

There are definitely rides that I am just not interested in riding, like Dumbo and Aladdin's carpets, and the rides at Dinoland. (I dont like roller coasters and those are carnival rides so they are already two strikes).
