Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
they are the masters of forced perspective... saw another pic showing scaffolding outside beasts castle and through the portcullis... looks like hundreds of yards difference, but the scaffolding links are nearly the same size!!

Pretty amazing when you can catch them at it isn't it. Once it is up it is difficult to see how they are doing it...dstrawn9889 wrote:they are the masters of forced perspective... saw another pic showing scaffolding outside beasts castle and through the portcullis... looks like hundreds of yards difference, but the scaffolding links are nearly the same size!!
Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
It is definitely a testament to the artistry of the imagineers that this forced perspective works so well in real life. It was originally used in theatre where the audience can't get quite as close as you can in the real world of Disney World.

Update: Not really FLE but the interactive Pooh queue will be closed for a week November 2nd to November 9th to fix some effects. During that time, Fastpass queue will be the only queue used and Faspasses will not be distributed during that time.

Ooooo, that could cause some serious back-ups in the attraction I bet. Is stuff already not working in the queue?!MadEye wrote:Update: Not really FLE but the interactive Pooh queue will be closed for a week November 2nd to November 9th to fix some effects. Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
The concept drawings look interesting and exciting but I am a little sad. That last 2 times that my family has gone my Mom asked to have out pictures taken with Pooh and friends in the exact same way, to show our growth and changes I guess. Doesn't seem like we will be able to go and do that again.

Apparently most of the effects have had more wear and tear than Disney thought they would and haven't stood up to the constant use.Amy wrote:Ooooo, that could cause some serious back-ups in the attraction I bet. It does seem to have been a popular addition for the little ones...and the bigger kids in the case of the germ laden honey wallsMadEye wrote:Apparently most of the effects have had more wear and tear than Disney thought they would and haven't stood up to the constant use.Amy wrote:Ooooo, that could cause some serious back-ups in the attraction I bet. If you get to MK at rope drop...you will be able to walk on Dumbo.boilerbabe wrote:Oh no! Thanks for the heads up, my mom has wanted to ride this attraction for some time, but every time she has been there, the line has been crazy! We'll have to make sure she gets on that before it closes down!!! I think she wants to ride it b/c it reminds her of when I was a child and they took me to WDW, for nostalgic purposes.

That's about the only way to ride Dumbo ~ right at park opening, or late in the evening with EMH...theBIGyowski wrote:If you get to MK at rope drop...you will be able to walk on Dumbo.boilerbabe wrote:Oh no! UPDATE: Anyone who liked the MTTF (Mickey's Toontown Fair) tents are not gonna like this. The two tents left over after MTTF closed have been gutted and stripped of their "tent" skins. Nothing left but the steel skeleton.
Pics can be found here (best one is the fourth from the bottom):

Are they maybe going to make new coverings?MadEye wrote:UPDATE: Anyone who liked the MTTF (Mickey's Toontown Fair) tents are not gonna like this. The two tents left over after MTTF closed have been gutted and stripped of their "tent" skins. Nothing left but the steel skeleton.

They are nowhere near where the mine train coaster will be so it has nothing to do with the "tents" finally being gutted.dstrawn9889 wrote:they were fading a bit, but it looks like the foundations are in the pathway of the 7dwarf coaster... so, bye, TTF, and thanks for the memories!
