Lap bars for Splash Mtn.

Re: Lap bars for Splash Mtn.
I have noticed, since the lapbar refurb, Splash has broken down CONSIDERABLY more. There were days this spring it was shut down for hours at a time. EVERY time I rode, something happened.
I kind of find the lapbars stupid but I realise it is because there are some guests who just don't get the meaning of the phrase "stay seated." Which is sad, the ride was fine without them.

Yes, the lap bars are a major pain. Also, I hate that they removed the handles as well. They were good to grab on to when hitting the big plunge!!!

I'll be there in a few weeks ... It'll be interesting to see them for the first time. I know lots of you probably have already seen them, what are they like?

The ride is fine perfectly without the lap bars; unfortunately, there are a few visitors without lap bars that are not.Soarin08 wrote:I kind of find the lapbars stupid but I realise it is because there are some guests who just don't get the meaning of the phrase "stay seated." I guess as long as the log stays upright, lap bars will be ok. Here at Six Flags over Texas we had a person drown on roaring rapids cause the couldn't out of the ride belts. I reserve my final decision till I actually go on the ride.

Those logs seem like they are so bottom heavy I can't imagine them being able to turn over. How sadkellybus wrote:I guess as long as the log stays upright, lap bars will be ok.
