I really like the new staircase scene. I always hated the spiders and thought they were out of place. The staircase is a good replacement.

I agree, the spiders were always out of place and the new staircase is a great idea. My favorite room has always been the ballroom though.

My bad if someone asked this already, but does anyone recall what was there before the spiders, or were they always there? 35 years later, I can't remember...

It had always been the spiders on the web before the staircases...

The hitchhiking ghosts are what I remember most about that attraction when I first rode it when I was 6. Mom and Dad on either side and a ghostie on my lap!

You keep hearing "it's returning" and yet year after year it never shows up! The Hatbox Ghost wouldn't even fit in with the revised theme of the attic and the black widow bride, Constance. You just gotta face the facts, he's gone - it's time to give up the ghost!

I feel like he'd fit even more now than he would've in the past. It's a decapitated man. They're probably have to make an entirely new figure though; the old one never made it because it had too many technical issues.

I think my favorite part of Haunted Mansion is the newer part w/ the bride that kills her husbands. "Til death do us part!" ha ha

It's just a cool use of effects and I think it freaks my husband out a little bit so that's funny too.

This is a great article on the singing busts in the Haunted Mansion. I don't remember where I first read it...if it was from a link here on Sub, I must apologize, the brain is a little mushy this morning....

I'm gonna go with a split decision ... Either the Ballroom scene or the attic scene ... or ... the graveyard! Gotta love the graveyard!

This is exactly what came to me when I saw this post. The old man and the dog, and how I always look for them each time I ride and watch them 'til they are out of sight! So real and so Disney!! Besides, most of my trips to WDW over the years I left my beloved shepherd/husky at home with my brother-in-law (who spoiled her) but she would never eat for a couple days after left. I would look at the dog and think of her, missing her and hoping she was OK(and not too skinny when I got home). :goofy:
