Yeah, like how when you look at the Canada pavillion from across World Showcase Lagoon, you see this huge building behind it. (Sorry, I wasn't too clear on what I meant  )

Yay everyone likes it :)

Post by baffledportrait » Jan Mon 16, 2006 10:45 pm

Glad to hear everyone likes my ride. Well, the one I work at :)

As far as the changing the video from California to Florida, I haven't heard anything about that, I don't think it would exactly be that interesting though, Florida's landscape is a bit...lacking. But, I was told (could be misinformation, don't take me 100% on this!) that they were actually contemplating changing it to an America movie, Soarin' over America basically, within the next 5 years. It would make a much more interesting movie than Florida!

Anyway, if anyone is around Epcot at anytime, come see me! (Jamie w/ the red hair, can't miss me!)

Soarin' Over America sounds like a blast to me. Hope they do that. It would just be another excuse to return to Disney World!

EXCUSE!! they aren't excuses they are reasons to go. Excuse makes it sound like no one wants to go.

Is it exactly the same as the one in California, or are there "subtle" differences like there are on many other rides that can be found in several parks :?:

So far as I could tell, California and Florida are identical excepting for the queue. And Doc, you are right as usual. I just started class again today and obviously it has already consumed my brain. Time for more Disney magic!

Yep. I heard the same: that it was in the pipeline for a possible change of scenery a ways down the road. It only makes sense, really, and I can't imagine that it would be a very expensive upgrade.

As for them being the same, I hear the WDW one is a few seconds longer as they added to the ending scene. Not a major difference though yet not a total copy of DCA's version. And the queue is, of course, totally different. Still a bit stark in places but the video boards certainly will keep the people interested when they are waiting in line for ages!

I don't know about it being longer. I myself have not been on both, but I have been told by managers and many who have rode both that say it is exactly the same movie. 4 minutes 50 seconds. Guess I'll find out when I get to go to DCA someday...:(

The video board loops need atleast two more fun Facts. I was able to read all four the whole way through ( well except the last one, I was talking to a nice young woman). If they add acouple more there is a chance people won't see the same ones twice or even thrice.

We rode Soarin' at DLR last June, but the WDW version was not completed by our last trip there in 2004. But in October we will be able to ride it and EE too. Can hardly wait!

I've been on both, and I couldn't notice a difference, if there is one.

And I love that the ride is all about my state... Golden State > Sunshine State. You couldn't do a whole ride like that on recognizable and interesting landscapes/monuments/etc in most other states... maybe any other state!

Although, because DCA will always have the original, a "Soarin' Over America" would be cool at Epcot.

Soarin' was great, but it was too short.

As far as I know, both Soarins are exactly the same. I've been on the one at DCA many many times, but the one at WDW only once, but I'm pretty sure they're the same. I asked a cast member and she said it was identical.

I went on it a few days ago, and got all sentimental seeing the Golden Gate bridge and Disneyland *sniff*.
