Yep. I believe the Waldo was actually held off-campus in downtown New Brunswick and the air-guitar was in the RAC on Livingston.

As for the record, I believe it was set since what I read the previous record last year was 4,000 people and they were expecting between 25,000-30,000 worldwide this year. Typhoon Lagoon was the headquarters for the event.

Although there are limits on how many at once can do this at TL and not exceed safety regulations and so forth...

And it seems like it really were 30,000 people worldwide - although they didn't say how many it were at TL alone.
