Brazil coming to EPCOT? Unconfirmed reports

This would be great news, as Epcot's World Showcase hasn't had any type of expansion in forever. I am sure they have the space for at least 3 more countries, so I think if we are going to expand, go the whole nine yards and add some Russia, Argentina, and Australia in there too

They could put the soccer pitch in between Brazil and Argentina, and *then* we'd see some pretty lively action in Epcot!

I think the main reason why there haven't been/will probably not be any expansions (except for the rumors about why Israel wasn't added) to the showcase is that no companies/governments want to saddle the economic burden to get it built. So it will probably end up right next to Spain in the trashcan of rejected ideas.

I think the big problem is space, while they do have physical land to use, they may have crowding issues. But mostly, it's the lack of money, which is why the presentations feel so dated.

...and let's not forget that trash can was already pretty full with other rejects: Equitorial Africa, Israel, and Russia. And as this is still a rumor, there's nothing on paper yet to really throw away!

Don't be so quick to look towards the VM as a sign that Brazil is coming. The artists have already said that they will be making more Country flags due out later this year. Brazil was the 11th design because they are represented well in the parks and they knew they would sell very well.

I like to think that Brazil will be added, but like Wizzard said, don't get too excited because they have let us down MANY times.

This makes sense since (from all reliable reports) Brazilians make up a very large percentage of the foreign tour groups that visit WDW.

And those castmembers hear the same silly rumors we hear, but no one actually has any true hard evidence that proves this particular matter. Until Disney announces it, it's best to write it off as merely speculative...

I would agree. they are probably getting the rumors from the same places that we are,, just because they work for Disney, it doesnt mean that they know more than we do, hehe.

There is plenty of space in World Showcase that they could put a new land. Just think of all of the unused space...or space that is being used but not for a particular land...I think Brazil would be a great addition...there is def a lack of South American presence...or how about India?

It really depends if they get the cooperation of the countries to be involved (i.e., sponsorship). That's why Russia and Spain fell through. Equitorial Africa got dropped in favor of the Animal Kingdom.

Hmm India would be nice but I am afraid people would think it would too close to Morocco.

Well that hardly seems fair. Asia is represented in the World Showcase and Animal Kingdom. Besides, Animal Kingdom celebrates the animals and World Showcase is about the people. (and the food )
