Actually, last time I was in the HM the number of people talking on cellphones was astounding! You couldn't hear the GH from all the mindless chattering on the phones. I think I prefer when they've got earbuds in the ears listening to music because at least they're quiet, although they just stand there engrossed in the music so they don't pay attention to where they are standing or when they should be moving...Jacca5660 wrote:I keep trying to write a reply here, but it seem I keep getting struck with Tourette Syndrome while thinking about what Disney is doing!!
I will say one thing, it comes down to the fact that we have become a society, actually, a planet of people that have to be immersed in multi-media all the time! There are those of you out there the scream at the microwave that you don't have all minute!

I hear you on that one ~ I had my little tiny cart in the grocery store this morning and there was a man texting away on his cell phone. He was walking right at me, completely oblivious that he was about to run head first into someone. I seriously thought about staying my course, just to wake him up to his surroundingsmindflipper wrote:Actually, last time I was in the HM the number of people talking on cellphones was astounding! I do wish people would be more considerate of others in the attractions. Just because they don't want to enjoy the pre-show does not mean other guests don't want to enjoy the pre-show

But Amies!!! You have to call someone so you can tell them you are at WDW!! I mean if you not in constant contact 24/7/365 people will forget your name!!Amy wrote:I hear you on that one ~ I had my little tiny cart in the grocery store this morning and there was a man texting away on his cell phone. Len90 has said that when he's at WDW he does a "media blackout" and doesn't use the iphone while in the parks. Good policy. Wish more would follow it.

I am guilty of taking the Haunted Mansion for granted. I usually walk briskly up to the fireplace, then quickly under the painting where I know the door is so that I am the first one into the hallway with the doom buggies. I think that for this next trip I am going to take my time and enjoy it. I was really impressed with the sound in the stretching room when I was with mindflipper and the Boilers in December. Hopefully the queue will be open.

I do tend to make my way over to the door as well once I get into the stretching room. Sometimes I am wrong though and am standing at the wrong wallNaCler wrote:I am guilty of taking the Haunted Mansion for granted. Doing it later as we did IMHO worked out better as people were not so noisy at that time.NaCler wrote:I am guilty of taking the Haunted Mansion for granted. I agree mindflipper... you could basically hear a pin drop if it weren't for the Ghost Host talking... What were there, maybe 10 other people in there with us?

I would welcome an addition to the graveyard...with some tombstones from the "dead" original attractions. I always look for Toad when we pass there and give him a silent salute...but I get cranky when they mess with a good thing...and unrelated, but sort of related, I am peeved that Snow White is being removed for a family friendly roller coaster. I know it's all about keeping it fresh and kid-friendly, but it erases another memory from my own family's past.

Re: Ideas on new Haunted Mansion que
RFID = Radio Frequency Identification ~ I'm guessing Peerless might be considering how the tombstones could be interactive with guests by reading information on your room keys or tickets and personalizing the experience further...mindflipper wrote:Maybe...if we knew what the heck a "RFID" is....Peerless83 wrote:Can anyone say RFID?![]()

it's better than that. a princess meet-n-greet is going in the space of a walt original, not a ride. how do you feel now?kcookiebaker wrote:I am peeved that Snow White is being removed for a family friendly roller coaster.
