Best Kept Secrets?

I hate to spread this around, but just with my closest friends;
Fort Wilderness' Fireside Sing-a-Long and Drive-in (on your golf cart) or Walk-in Movie, and of course the Electric Water Parade viewed from the beach!
But keep it to yourself! Booking a campsite at Ft. Wilderness has become nearly impossible!

I went in January this year, and I should have thought of it before I voted for beaches and cream, but I think that is one of the best kept secrets. The weather was gorgeous and there were hardly any rides for anything. TTA was completely empty except for one other family. It was awesome.bigboodah71 wrote:Is it just me, every time I go to the MK the TTA is packed and you can only ride through once. I've been in October, June, and March. Ice Station Cool is the best kept secret to me...One Word...Beverly....eeccccchhhhh.
I love it at night too, seeing everything lit up, it's so nice. Another one is the jungle cruise in magic kingdom at night. I've never ridden it at night before, I did for the first time this summer, and it felt so different having things lit up and you can't really see into the "jungle". Our skipper was hilarious. I went during the extra magic hours so there wasn't a line at all, and this was in July.esmeralda wrote:My vote is for the TTA, especially at night.
One more thing is this water fountain at epcot, I'm not sure what it's called, but it's right next to Figment's journey into the imagination ride. When you walk up the ramp there's that little fountain that spurts the water across in little streams to different spongy pads. When I was little I loved playing with it, putting my hand in front of the water spurts and catching them.
Oh memories.....

While I love everything listed, I don't necessarly think of them as secrets. TTA is a great place to rest and relax on a hot, busy day or after a long day at MK but there is just so much to see and do.
You really need to slow down and appreciate the little things. How about the maze/hedgerow in England, The British Invasion at the end of the alley, the Koi pond in Japan, the trains in Germany, the Stave Church in Norway, Off Kilter in Canada and the American Pavillion, wander thru Morocco, etc.
At MGM, go to One Man's Dream and really take your time, it's just a wonderful exhibit on Walt.
At Animal Kingdom, walk the trails, go to Conservation Station, listen to the sounds in the sound booth, watch the kids show (it's really quite good), just stop and watch the animals for longer than a couple of minutes.
Don't forget to visit the resorts, the themeing is just great and don't forget Fort Wilderness either.
I could go on and on, I try to do something different on every trip and since I bought my FL house (As a place for my son to stay while in school and will be my retirement house) I can visit a little more frequently and really stop to smell the roses at WDW.

Definately NOT Vacation club... I'm just sick of that phrase.
Dole Whips are one of WDW and DLRs best kept secrets. So good.

I reckon the Keys to the Kingdom tour is one of the best kept secrets. It seems that very few people do the tour, yet its amazing to see what goes on backstage. To see how the emergancy exit routes in the haunted mansion were themed so that is a child got scared and came off the ride early they didn't lose the illusion of it being a haunted house was great. Its also great to hear how Disney worked out how far people were willing to hold onto their rubbish before they dropped it which is why there are so many bins, and how they tested the colour of the streets for mainstreet so that it always looks good in photos regardless on how sunny it is and what colour you are wearing. I never knew how much thought was put into the park!!

Oh man, that one's a doozy. Three of my friends and I--all Disney college program alumni--wanted to have a reunion back at Disney, and we were determined to have breakfast at CRT. One of us actually got up at 6:45am 90 days in advance to call the hotline at exactly 7am, or in other words, at the earliest possible day and time we could call, and we got our priority seating!tthielke wrote:The best kept secret must be how to get priority seating for Cinderella's Royal Table Breakfast.
Now, if you're willing to settle for lunch, that might not be as difficult as you may think. One of my college program roommates and I walked up to the booth and asked if there was anything available for that day, and we got in. It wasn't even like it was packed either. It was the middle of December and we had some lovely eggnog milkshakes for dessert that came in glass Cinderella's Royal Table mugs that we ended up buying to keep. Just knowing that you're sitting inside the castle and looking out at all the other guests is enough! Breakfast was great, but lunch was fantastic as well. Someday I'll try the dinner.

TTA easy. It's just such a fun, relaxing way to spend some time; especially if you have a SM FP or something.
I also think Askershus (spelling probably off) is really overlooked too because it's Norwegian food but they have some really good stuff there. If you like smoked stuff its espcially great, but the true hidden secret is their goat cheese - it's SOOOO INCREDIBLE! It's like a smooth, creamy sweet flavor. It's brown so I'm assuming it has brown sugar which gives it its sweetness and coloration, but I don't know but all you can eat of this stuff is worth the price alone!

Hear hear! I dined there for dinner once before they changed the serving style and I loved it! I'm a big fan of Scandinavian food in general, so maybe I'm biased. I agree that the cheese was incredible. I engorged myself on smoked fish, shrimp, and that cheese. (Among other things.) The entire Norway pavilion is one of my favorite places. I love their bakery too, especially the almond pretzel and school bread.Mr.ToadWildRider wrote:TTA easy.
