Illuminations gets my vote. Fantasmic comes in a close second.

Definitely Philharmagic. Good time to go, too. Should be nice and empty depending on what time in January. :)

I am leaving a week from tomorrow and am thrilled. I just watched the show on the History Channel about WDW and am more excited than ever to go. Are there any last-minute suggestions of things to see (and/or eat) before I leave?

Cinderella Castle

The absolute thing you MUST see is Cinderella Castle. Once you see that, you feel like you are really at Walt Disney World, and then the vacation really starts!

I would say Wolfgang Puck Express, it is mine and my Brothers favorite eatery. Its in Downtown Disney west side, right behind the west side bus stop. The sandwiches, Lasagna, and Pasta are great. Pizza you can get anywhere.

I have been there twice before. Once in '98 and again in '01.

I must recomend Rose & Crown for dinner and Illuminations...May not be the best viewing spot, but the atmosphere, and yards of beer make it well worthwhile.

If you have a competitive personality you can go on the Buzz Lightyear ride and see how many points you can get compared to someone else, it is very addictive.

Yeah, but I hate the scoreboard. It's impossible to get a good score on it unless you get stopped in the middle of the ride for a few minutes. Which is kind of cheating, but it makes you feel good about yourself, anyway.

My dad actually saved the universe once and got into the highest point bracket. He still claims to be a Galactic Hero and now I refuse to ride with him because I'm still a Space Scout! This is a spectacular ride though, and definitely high on my recommendation list.

I remember hearing somewhere that if you hold down the button long enough your points will start to go up. Has anyone ever heard or tried this?

Yes, I've tried it and it is true. Don't ever let up on the button (at least in WDW) and you will positively do better. And aim for the volcano!
