So according to the official WDW site the rooms are still the classic wild colors they always have been. Maybe they got enough heat with the prelim. rooms they canned the idea. Gotta hope so since I'd not stay there again if they were all boring colors like that. Too bad too since the architecture is innovative and gutsy - why not do the same for the rooms instead of trying to be all trendy [and as they should have learned by now - easily outdated in a matter of years]?

Okay, I've only been able to stay at the value resort "Jazz" a couple times, and have walked through the Wildnerss Lodge ( I think, with the big tree during Christmas? ) so I don't really know. But it doesn't really look any better than the value resort.

That doesn't mean it's bad, I just don't think it looks spectacualr. But I'm wrong right, and the pics just arn't doing it justice right?

It all depends on what is important to making your vacation a success. If you want more space then you better stay away from the Value resorts. The All-Star rooms are 260 sq.ft. While the Wilderness Lodge rooms are 340 and the Contempory is 436. I've also stayed at the Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans Riverside. Both of those are 315 sq.ft. If you go for only 4 days and are going to be spending all your time at the parks and just be at the hotels to sleep you might want to pocket the extra cash and opt for the Value. If you are going to have a longer vacation and not spend every single daylight hour at the parks you might want a nicer room with more space to relax in. The more expensive resorts also have nicer sit down resturants. If you got kids that just want hotdogs and pizza they who cares.

The most important difference I have found is the bus routes. The Deluxe resorts have a lot of direct routes to the parks. At the Value resorts be prepaired to make a few more stops and spend more time on the bus getting to your destinations.

The Contemporary was a resort that I was never really interested in staying at - as it just seemed so outdated and I figured the rooms would be shabby. After seeing the re-habbing of the rooms and how cool they look, my family and I will make sure to stay at the Contemporary in the near future!

I don't know what to think about the new Contemporary rooms. On the one hand, I like the new design because it reminds me of Ikea and I love Ikea. On the other hand, I really liked the old design and that really seemed more contemporary to me. I don't like how the price is going up after the rehab, either. More money per night for MK view. Looks like I won't be staying at the Contemporary for a long time.
