I wondered if anyone has experienced Bob Jackson at the River Roost Lounge recently. We're taking a trip in December and have never done his show. We'd like to eat bar food and drink beer but I can't find a decent, updated menu. Plus, the one time we walked through Port Orleans and saw the massive crowds sitting at the bar, I wondered how early we would have to get to the bar to get a seat to watch his show. I just called PO and they said his first show is at 8:30pm. What time would you get there to have munchies and drinks?

Sorry to say, I have not seen this show. It is on my must do list for my trip in May. It sounds like a lot of fun. I would get there 20-30 minutes early just to make sure you have a decent seat. Enjoy the show.

I have heard it's awesome, but have never seen it for myself either...
There is one guy on another board I visit that ALWAYS tells people to see Bob--it's almost comical now, but it must be good for him to recommend it like that.
I'm staying at POR the week before Christmas--I hope to catch him that week.

Bob puts on a great show. I've never been there at the beginning so I don't know exactly what time to tell you to get there. But I do know that there is not a lot of seating so if you get there after he has started it will be tough getting close to all of the action or to get tambourine.
