Yeah for me, the old communicore DEFINES EPCOT. If they ever stray from that I will be one sad person. So far, they haven't pushed it too far. For some reason Nemo in the living seas doesn't bug me as much as a mickey type one would. But for me EPCOT is the 80's technology feel as weird as that sounds. Its so retro that I love it!

You're all making me want to pop over to my favorite park after work. But alas, it's not as much fun alone or in your work clothes.

WOL is pretty kaputt. It's not my favorite pavilion or the best Epcot has to over, but I enjoyed it and would like to see it open again. I thought it might be up and running sometime over the summer too, but the only action its seen since I started another internship here at Disney in mid-June was a cast member event tantamount to an in-house career fair. That was held at the end of August.

On a related note, I wish I had seen Horizons when it was still operational. The first time I visited Epcot was in 2000 and I don't think we made it over to that side of Future World at all. (I was not a big fan of that park until I worked there for 5 months about two years later.) I don't even recall if Horizons was still open at that point, though. I'm sure someone here can confirm?

I remember the paintings in the park maps when the attraction was "Coming Soon" were clearly showing an Omnimover-style ride...personally the sort of simulation where they put you in a box, show you a tiny screen, and then shake you around a little don't do anything for me.

Apologies to those who love Star Tours, but I've always found such things really boring.

The thing I remember is my family having a major meltdown in WoL! Mom and Dad yelling at my sister (who was in her late 30's at the time with her 2 sons there, too!). I took my 2 nephews and we strolled around the "exhibits" for -- what felt like hours (just to keep away from my freaky family!!).

I do miss Cranium Command... that one was my favorite. I didn't like Body Wars (same as Star Tours), as I got motion sick on it.

I like Subsonic's idea of being able to punch the "punching bag" in the throat!! How cool is that! What about bringing back and updating the DL ride from years ago (the Monsanto one... the incredible shrinking machine or something like that)?
