I certainly wish we could come to Valpo and check it out. You know that if we had been "the other couple" there would've been total consensus!!Amy wrote:Fun! You clean out your pantry closet and find all the extra Disney bags from all of your trips. You then make sure you stack them up according to what year each bag was used and neatly pile them back up in the closet. It's really cool to see the older WDW bags from 2000 and the 4 parks 1 world era.

Oh, this reminds me of that show, "Hoarders!"
I also have a collection of bags, but it is in my pile of plastic bags to reuse/recycle. It is a rare occasion that something gets the honor of being placed in one of the Dis bags. However, I don't have a good inventory or recollection of the year they were produced.
The other day I was in the grocery store with my mom and I had to stop her to point out a hidden mickey that was formed by some of the gaudy retail store decor.
Good thing she's a fellow Disney freak.

LOL! I may have a DLR or DLP bag, but I don't keep any WDW bags. I do keep the tickets in some cases, I have a ton of map/guides. I've got years on you Len so I've got to be choosier on what I decide to keep in a collection of souvenirs.Len90 wrote:You know you're a WDW nut when...

Re: You know you're a WDW nut when...
This is so funny because we just spent all afternoon and evening the other day sorting through all our bags and related papers/tickets/leftover fast-passes, etc. from our last five trips in an attempt to organize the piles by year! Didn't come near to getting it all done. That's not counting all the real souvenirs that are already piled up on display shelves (and not even all of them are organized yet either). That was just the bags and paper stuff!mindflipper wrote:LOL! I may have a DLR or DLP bag, but I don't keep any WDW bags. I do keep the tickets in some cases, I have a ton of map/guides. Oh yes! I am in good company!!! We have bags, fastpasses, receipts, napkins, maps (especially from the 50th)...you name it! The only problem is, they are not all together in one place like you guys (in fact, I couldn't tell you where anything is at the moment). We are not that organized...but one day I'd like to put everything together in a storage box to keep them nice and neat.

...when you're a pack rat with worthless park junk - bags, unused fast passes, tickets, map/guides, etc. - which to you is as valuable to you for nostalgaic value as limited-edition pins and exclusive park merchandise is to collectors for monetary value.
Let's just hope none of us show up on a talk-show about "hoarders".

Oh good, I'm glad I'm not alone, we store all of our Disney bags in the pantry too! My mom found one in her pantry from 1980!!!!!! That's a keepsake, for sure!

This is classic "hoarders" material! haha. They always discuss how the items have so much meaning to them and they can't bear to part ways with whatever item they are discussing. On the show it is always a random item like a teddy-bear dressed like a cowboy, a box of bent nails or a rotten pumpkin. But we could have our own show based on Disney stuff.
Stashed somewhere I know I have a few of the shampoo/soaps from the resorts that say, "Everybody neat and pretty???"

Definitely not toilettries and shampoos! Shampoos, soaps and conditioners are not like wine - they do not age well. Chemicals break down with age. I would suggest that if you want to keep the bottles, dump its contents.greendoor678 wrote:This is classic "hoarders" material! haha. I keep the shampoos and other toiletries that are included too. I empty out all of the bottles and fill them with my normal shampoo at home, reminds me of staying there every shower I take. I usually bargain with the mousekeeper to give me lots of resort pens, those are my favorite.

mousekeeper! That's a good one nothernmousfan!!
I'm sure people were looking at me weird today. I was behind a fertilizer (I think) truck that had liquid sloshing around in a few tanks. The smaller tank had "Monsanto" on the top ~ which got me singing "Miracles from Molecules" and grinning from ear to ear...all alone in my car...stuck behind a slow moving truck
...but then I was singing and happy again
