I had always imagined having dinner at the Italian restaurant that had the Lady and the Tramp theme in DL and having him pop the question there.........I think we would have to go to Epcot to get that atmosphere in WDW. Hopefully he wouldn't do it on one of the fast rides and drop the ring  that would so not be good!
Going to mousesavers.com to look at rates now............hey, if he does pop the question we will go stand in front of The Hat and take our pic and post it on here 8)

I love the hat, just don't like where it is. It should be moved. I don't have a suggestion as to where, but let's get a clear view of the Theater again.

I agree that the hat is a disgrace to the overall look of the park. MGM was always known for its centerpeice icon, the Hollywood theater. That the fisrt thing that was meant to be seen upon entering the park, and the hat takes away from that image. I choose not to look at it when I am in the park as it is such an eyesore. I believe that they were just too lazy to disassemble it and have it removed from the park. The same goes for the mickey hand that looms ominously over the epcot ball. Last time I was at Epcot I made a comment that maybe the next hurricane would knock it down, but I was corrected and told that it was constructed to withstand all hurricane force winds.

Lazy, no - cheap, yes. And certainly not good at planning - the Hat should have only been temp, not a perm. "feature"...

It will take large cranes to move both and that takes cash. And the Hand is made to hold up to hurricanes - just look at the structural steel in there next time you walk under it!

I want them to ditch the hand on Spaceship Earth more than the hat in front of the Chinese Theater, myself...

I agree to all these. That hat gotsta go...now! Same with the wand over at Epcot. I loved seeing the Manns Chinese Theater as you enter the park. No wI have to live with seeing that eye sore every time I go to the Studios. Get rid of that horrific thing!

I liked it when they first put it there for the celebration, but now it's just annoying. I miss being able to see the theater. It's kind of the same thing over at Epcot. We don't need a huge sign on Spaceship Earth telling us were we are. Atleast I don't. And if I remember correctly, the spot were it is is part of the giant hidden Mickey.

I went to WDW in '75 and '77 then I had a long dry spell and didn't get back unitl 1994!! That was my honeymoon. It worked 'cause we got 2 kids now and we have been back an average of every 18 months. Long enough to make you want to miss it but not too short so you get sick of it.

About the hat. I've seen it. Loose it!

Ok, so as of 2006, there is a ginat wand hovering over spaceship earth, a huge sorcerer hat blocking the Chinese theater, and an enormous plaque covering a third of cinderella castle.

Can we put mickey ears on top of the tree of life?
