The Tomorrowland Speedway!
I absolutely hate those nasty, noisy, smelly little go-carts! The exhaust fumes make me sick, and I try not to even walk down-wind of that place if I can help it.
Also, the American Idol Experience. We were there for one of the very first shows when it first opened, for season pass holders only, before it opened for the general public. I'm not a fan of the show, don't really care for it, but we thought it might be a fun experience to try it once. Well, it was obvious from the get-go that the results were rigged. We suspected it would be once we heard all the contestants, just by the way the MC and the judges were acting toward each one, and we just knew they were playing favorites with a certain chick who was actually not even as good as one of the others. Sure enough, when the voting was over, their little pet contestant won. We were suspicious, and started asking around, and it seemed like everybody we asked had voted for the other one that we thought was better, and not the one who actually won. So yeah, we're sure it was rigged. So now I dislike the show even more, and I would not recommend that anyone bother with it unless you're a die-hard fan who doesn't mind that it's rigged.

People who don't take advantage of the TTA are really missing out. Not only do you get a chance to see things from a different perspective (Tomorrowland from above, Space Mountain from the inside,) you get to pass by Walt Disney's original concept model of EPCOT, which is priceless, IMO, and ride on a transportation system championed by Walt himself! There's also never a line, so what do you have to lose? It's not like the Speedway, where the amount of time you wait is wasted on go-carts.

Like boilerbabe, I can live with the American Idol experience. I have done the Speedway, but I just find it boring now that I have grown-up. The other one I avoid besides "AI" is Stitch. I'm avoiding because of MadEye - he detests it so bad it's gotta be that bad. Anyway, I like the previous attraction better.

I don't like any attractions that test "the power of suggestion"...this includes ITTBAB and HISTA...I never did Alien Encounter (I did see the preshow, however), and I'm happy about that. The other one I avoid besides "AI" is Stitch. (The minimal amount of effects in Muppets and TSM don't bother me though, whew! That's 2 of my faves right there!)

No not really. I just hate waiting in line for something that just goes around in a circle. Of course Astro Orbiter is in a league of its own. The view is awesome from up there!Amy wrote:Is it a spinny thing for you Mouseoholic?Mouseoholic wrote:Magic Carpets of Aladdin & Tricera Top Spin! Ughggggg....NEVER I SWEAR!![]()

And Ms. Mouse I can totally understand not waiting in line for those rides when you can go on Astro Orbitor and see the entire Kingdom from above!

Another vote for American Idol. The TV show is stupid for one thing; the only reason people watch it is to see Simon cleverly insult people who don't know how lame they are, and that doesn't translate well to the spirit of WDW. Besides, once Idol goes off the air and becomes one of those cultural artifacts that everyone will be embarrassed to admit they liked, like MC Hammer or Vanilla Ice, then this stupid attraction will still be at the Studios, although once people stop visiting it TDO will just shutter it and let it sit there empty rather than spending money to put a good attraction there. So yeah, I hate the American Idol Experience.
I'm a huge thrill ride chicken, as I've noted before, so I've never done Space Mountain, Everest, Tower of Terror, Rockin' Roller Coaster, or Test Track. I've also never done the Beauty and the Beast or Little Mermaid shows at the Studios, or the Finding Nemo musical at AK, because neither me nor my wife are interested in them.

I have been on Tricera Top Spin, but I object to any Disney ride that can be found at a traveling carnival. Let's face it this ride is off the shelf and not worthy of Disney. I don't care it's in an area the is supposed to be a carnival. It's still not what I go to Disney for.
I really enjoyed Alien Encounter, it's one of the only attractions a WDW the scared the poop out of you! Although when my DSs were little bugs life freaked them out. As a mater of fact my 16 year old still has a hard time with it!

The comments I read on this website never cease to amaze me.
First of all, the fact that everyone is quick to point fingers at AI but not a single person mentioned Sounds Dangerous shows how much exaggeration is being used. There's a reason they only open this for heavy crowds. And I love how we compare the show to Vanilla Ice, with a career that lasted for maybe a year while AI is in its 9th season and both weekly episodes still rank in the Nielsen top 3, and dish out half-baked conspiracy theories about the show being rigged. Granted, Dancing with the Stars was the most watched show this week with about 23 million viewers ... good God, I hope Disney doesn't utilize this ridiculous piece of ABC property.
Let me tell you about my experience - which I loved. I made it on stage for one of the 7 preliminary shows, but lost to a very sweet Harvard grad (we're still fb friends to this day), so realize that there's only ONE person each day who doesn't ultimately get rejected. And also just like the real show, the judges can do a lot to sway the vote. However, I still attended the finale ... which was phenomenal! The amount of talent that I never realized was walking around me during any given visit blew my mind. And seeing small children ask for autographs from non-cast members/complete strangers just because they saw them sing on the AIE stage was literally joyous. And just ask any cast member at DHS and they'll tell you this show is the most realistic attraction Disney has ever created for a theme park.
Like ANY WDW attraction, you just have to know how to navigate it. If you don't audition within the first two hours of the park opening - especially during crowded days - then I wish you the best of luck, because their workers have the not-so-glorious task of filling show times every day with brand new, talented patrons. And if you're at DHS on a weekday in early February, I wouldn't bother watching, unless you're looking to take a nap in the auditorium (a la Presidents, Carousel), because the Studios talent pool will be smaller. But if you're there on a Saturday in July and Fantasmic isn't showing, the finale should definitely and pleasantly surprise you.
And Future Guy ... I'm a bit confused as to why you might spend so much time and money on the parks and refuse to do SO many attractions?

Hi, my name is John and I like American Idol the show... that took a lot less effort than admitting to liking MC Hammer!
I think it's entertaining on tv, but I have no desire to see a "minor league" version of it in a Disney park. What's the point? Is the winner going to put out an album or get plastered on my tv when I get home? Not interested in the attraction, but I still like the show.
