WESTCOT was also going to heavily depend upon corporate sponsorship - and it just wasn't there. Without that buy-in, and the reality of the costs were far greater than originally estimated, and other publicity problems, legal lawsuits, etc. - WESTCOT was doomed to fail.

Yes, and so we ended up with DCA and now they're spending $1 billion to remodel the entire park which, (no offense to MR. Lasseter and the Pixar crew) IMHO has too much emphasis on the Pixar movies/characters.

What I really liked about the original DCA was that like the original EPCOT, there was not a large emphasis on the characters. Leave that to the MK. The idea of a park about the history of the state where the Disney Studios were born was great! ...on paper that is

Too bad they were too cheap to do it right from the get go....oh well, I have hopes for the remodel, though.

I know how the nostalgia gets to us on the changes to any attraction, but in my opinion, about 90% of the time, I think they get the changes right. The misses, like the JII, are few in my opinion. I know how so many regret Horizons, but I don't think it's anywhere in the classic catagory, say like, Haunted Mansion or Pirates, etc. I'm not sure that anything in EPCOT is a classic in the arena of those with the exception of American Adventure.
