Did anyone else see this?

Thankfully no one was hurt and there's no damage to any of the attractions. The fire looks pretty big in the pictures. It seems like the parks have had a lot of fires recently. :(

Sounds like they responded quickly and got it under control with no problems. Good thing it was small and no one was hurt.

The report I saw said it was a tree and may have had something to do with the fireworks. Anybody have any more info?

The few reports I read indicated that it was construction tarps that caught on fire from the fireworks ~ not sure if there has been an official report yet or not
EDIT: This is what I found in this article from the ocregister ~ a link if you'd like to see the whole article ~ http://www.ocregister.com/articles/fire ... aheim.html
The fire began around 9:20 p.m. on a tree near the "It's a Small World" attraction, said Disney spokeswoman Suzi Brown.
It was extinguished about half an hour later, Brown said.

Thanks for the article. Still not a lot of detail, but I think you're right about the tarp / scrim.

Interesting...at least the second fire in that themed area in the past 6 months - we were there in October when some grass at 7DMT caught fire due to fireworks.

Wrong park. 7DMT is in WDW and this Small World fire was at DLR. :)

D'oh! Sorry - reading too quickly and making assumptions.

But I WAS at MK when the 7DMT fire happened. Do I get half-credit? :)

You get half-credit for telling the truth and half-credit for being there. :)

In all honesty, I'm surprised there aren't more incidents like these - relatively minor - considering the attractions are working all day long, every day, with a few exceptions. That's a lot of energy, a lot of places for things to go wrong. Add exploding pyrotechnics to the mix, and that's a recipe for trouble.
