That is not that extensive, it outdoors with heavy water exposure and throw in that there have likely been better designs for rolled steel tracks that can't be applied to the ride since it is ancient.

Wow ~ just reading a blog post and it seems almost the whole DCA park is closed for renovations!

Unless you're really into eat/shopping at a specific part, most of that list is not attractions, and one of them (blue sky cellar) has been on the closed list for a year or so.

Muppet Vision 3D, The Bakery Tour (although that looks like it will reopen tomorrow), Soarin' Over California, World of Color, Grizzly River Run, It's Tough to Be a Bug! ~ I would be sad over any of these being closed, much less all at once. And I'm sure a lot of people miss the chance to go on the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. And the Taste Pilot's Grill area, along with Soarin' and Grizzly River Run, looks like that whole area isn't open at all. Seems significant to me, but then again I am not a local that can go all the time.

Which is also why hotel rates are much cheaper and the parks close early... didn't notice GRR closed, which may have been good this weekend since it was 80.

Yeah, just like AK, it's the luck of the draw out there on whether you get lucky or soaked to the skin.

Yeah, a lot of decent rides are closed up until April/May. I don't think I want to go visit the park much until they're all done since a lot of my favorite rides are closed for refurbishment.
