I guess it depends how young you were when you first went on it and whether or not you slept through the whole thing.

Personally, I have very fond memories of the ride from childhood. That all changed after I got hired at Dland. I was trained on the ride and at first it was cool. I got to walk through the ride, sit up in the control towers, pull boats on and off the flume, etc.. And even the music just sort of fades into the background while you are there. HOWEVER, that stupid ticking clock drove me crazy! TICK TOCK TICK TOCK :x

I wanted to get into the attractions, but sadly after being so discouraged in merchandise my attendance record kept me from transfering anywhere. Well, atleast I didn't have to ask "How many in your party?" over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Out of all the ride being updated why not that one?

It's a big bad world,
If you want to keep score,
You better get a big board,
It's a big bad world after all.

I voted yes.
The ride itself actually has a lot to look at. It's the loud repetitive music that bring it down. Honestly, I find myself wanting to ride it every once in a while. I find it unfortunate that nobody else wants to go on it. The music isn't THAT bad. I know when I'm listening to the station and a "Small World" song comes on I don't flip out and throw my headphones.

Next time I go to Disneyland I'm dragging everybody on Small World.

I wouldn't call it a "cool" ride!

I agree, subsonic. IASW is not a cool ride!!! However, it can be a lot of fun when taken in moderation. Ever gone on the ride with a 5-6 year old kid and watched their eyes bug with joy as they clap and sing along with the song??? Let's face it... it's a kid's ride and that's who it's meant to entertain.

***WARNING*** When not taken in moderation the theme song to "It's A Small World" can be mind numbing to the point of delirium and lead to inexplicable violence in some people.

Hahaha!!! That is funny!

But seriously, I think it's a GOOD ride, not a bad ride. One of the things about Disneyland that has always been a constant source of inspiration for me was the high quality of the art throughout the park--almost everywhere. I've always thought the Mary Blair-stylized dolls and the super-simplistic animation in Small World are well done. It is the one ride where they "let" you see that it's all fake--by design. It's unique. True, the music's a little loud for how repetitive it is, but the visuals are excellent!!

It is a pretty naive view of the world--that the whole world's in a kind of non-stop happy song together. It's a kind of innocence that I like indulging in every once in a while. It kinda harks back to the old Walt-Disney's-Still-Alive style of innocent entertainment.

I do not think that I have ever vistied Disneyland without riding Its A Small World. I don't dread, and I like it greatly.

Call me weird, but I really like the whole look of the thing. Its a shame they covered up the Mary Blair Murals in Tomorrowland. I especially like the sun at the end. Reminds me of old coffeeshop decor from my childhood.
