Toontown is being evacuated after a small "explosion" took place in a trashcan. Early reports state no injuries and that it was a dry ice in a plastic bottle.

Now let's discuss away.

Probably a worker since they use dry ice all the time and it isn't something that you can keep in your pocket.
Still shows how much of a joke security at DLR and WDW is since as long as the magic chopstick can't find it you can get it in the gate.

I agree with you on this. The bag check is not thorough at all. I was just in WDW with a camera bag and they never looked in most of the bag. However, with backpacks I did see a little more strictness than in prior years.
As for the explosion, I suspect slightly more than just a mistake by a worker. Bomb squad is investigating and reports that they can be evacuating the whole park.

Leave it to some dumb-a _ _ to ruin things for everyone Disney is one of the last places where you can leave the mean old world behind and step into a beautiful safe bubble. When I hear things like this I am so sad that the world that I grew up in is gone. I just hope nobody got hurt.....

I didn't say it was a mistake, employees can pull pranks too.

There have been reports posted that a 22 year old DL CM has been arrested for this incident.

Dumb pranks of yesteryear are serious incidents of today. If it was a CM, they are in a position to be made an example of.

They already are, he is being held on a million dollars bail, just like the last guy that set of a dry ice bomb (not in Disneyland) and the prosecution was also aiming for a WMD charge.
