Man, in only about 2 months another worker has been hurt on the job, this time falling from the roof.

sounds more like a hired worker was injured due to his own (his company's faulty equipment) it could have happened in any location this company was hired to perform work. Sorry, just because it happens on company property doesn't mean much...
NOw the machinist hit by a car>? That's another story.

They might have been workers called in to install the saftey railings to keep up with OSHA requirements, which would mean they are working in places that are out of code.

The one that got hit, if I recall, was due to a miscommunication or a bad sensor.
