Re: Dateline Disneyland
From an article I saw online, it looks like Club 33 is going to be far more restrictive on guests dining at Club 33 without members present. Club members will be able to make ressies further out than before, but they will only be allowed to make 20 ressies per year for parties dining without the member present. And those ressies can only be made 14 days out, unless you are dining on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, then you can only make the ressie 3 days out. I wonder if that will make for an emptier club or if members will tend to dine there more knowing there will less non-members filling the dining room?

From what I understand, they have been upping the number of concurrent members allowed in the program, which probably led the need for more space.

Yup, saw that as well. It also appears that members can dine in the lounge without making reservations, so that is a big part of the new space as well.Wizzard419 wrote:From what I understand, they have been upping the number of concurrent members allowed in the program, which probably led the need for more space.

Looks like there were some pretty heavy changes for Club 33, I wonder how the members will take it?

Re: Dateline Disneyland
I think they were told about what all was happening so I'm guessing they could cancel their membership if they didn't like it. I think it is all positive changes, other than the loss of the trophy room, which quite honestly wasn't quite what I expected when we saw it. Sounds like there will be some less expensive menu options which will be nice for members that dine there frequently. I wonder if the addition of the Premier AP is a new thing for the top tier members, or if that was already something that was included. I doubt we will get to eat there again so I'm glad we had the opportunity to do so before it was refurbished...although it would be fun to be able to go again and see the new lounge area.Wizzard419 wrote:Looks like there were some pretty heavy changes for Club 33, I wonder how the members will take it?

Re: Dateline Disneyland
People get bitchy about that kind of stuff regardless. The thing is, they won't cancel, just like AP holders have been known to be called APholes.
I have a sinking suspicion the food won't last though, the demos for 33 skew old, those same demos skew towards steakhouse fare rather than something with a heavier spice profile (such as what they are going to offer). Again, they won't quit, but they will bitch and moan until it changes back/returns the stuff that was removed because it was boring and old.

Wow ~ just finished reading the update with the new Club 33 changes. What a difference! The only thing that makes me truly sad is what happened to the old French lift. Dismantled and turned into a booth for one?! Really? Just sad I can't imagine wanting to sit in there either ~ it would be awfully tiny!

I could imagine it having a 6 month waiting list because of the "history".

I would imagine it seats two, not very marketable for one...

Re: Dateline Disneyland
It might, although the article mentioned it was just for one ~ and it didn't look very roomy in there. Guess we will have to wait until someone is lucky enough to go for lunch there to check it out in person and report back!Wizzard419 wrote:I would imagine it seats two, not very marketable for one...
