Glad Cali is getting some much needed rain. It is interesting to see how much it changes operations at DL versus WDW though, when the weather is rainy. It must be really slippery in A Bug's Land for them to put down mats and safety railings in the walkways!elizabethswann wrote:http://micechat.com/59781-captain-america-disneyland/

Any word on how long the Club 33 expansion will be?
Good to see that BTMRR is almost done. I really missed being able to ride that when we went
I wonder if the fall protections in It's a Small World are on the inside or outside or both?
I guess I am going to have to wait until Space Mountain is completed to check the before and after pictures with the fall precautions in place. Hard to tell what the changes are at the moment to my "haven't been to DL near enough" eyes

Re: Dateline Disneyland
They usually don't, especially when you realize that there is a play fountain in the space as well. I think the reason they added those was because of the strong wind blasts, incline, and not everyone wearing ideal footwear for wet/slick surfaces, they took some extra precautions. Most of the rides can run safely in the rain, the only ones that have issues are those that use rubber wheels and have inclines (too much slipping).
Those don't look like trees that fell, but rather limbs, which happens a lot during the strong wind storms.
But yeah, we will be back to the 80's by Saturday.
Also, don't let the lies of the butt-hurt squad fool you, subs were never actually on the chopping block.

Forgot to add, the walls are down around Big Thunder, and just to remind everyone how full of crap MiceChat usually is, the town still stands.

Has the Big Thunder refurb taken longer than first thought? I feel like it was supposed to have been completed a while ago, but I could be mistaken. I have no concept of time anymore now that my life has become school, study, sleep, and find some time in there to eat.

It was supposed to be done in November and then changes to the project pushed it to Feb, and now it is opening in March.

The only thing that mermaid desperately needs is to be razed. It was a bad idea to start with, then poorly executed, and now they are throwing more money at a ride that already blew it's chance.

Re: Dateline Disneyland
It will be interesting to see what they end up doing with Alice in Wonderland. I'm so glad we were able to ride it when we last visited
That is odd that there would be some concern with the Storybook Land Canal Boats as that attraction was down for refurbishment when we were there just 5 months ago.
I wonder if Club 33 members get any sort of reimbursement for the extended time the club is closed for renovations?
Boy do Californians count time weird
April 21 - 22 is only two days in the rest of the world. Suppose that is because the weather is so perfect out there

Re: Dateline Disneyland
They most likely wouldn't be changing the layout of the track because then it would require a steeper grade and really sharp turns,
They might be giving them access to 1901, one thing Disney never does is a straight up reimbursement. A prime example would be the Mighty Ducks, when Disney still owned them, suite holders still had to pay full price (they could give up the suite, but it would be snatched up instantly) but in return they were given catering and merch vouchers for each game that wasn't played during the strike.
