World of Color: Glow With Us
A new (money making) feature has been added that capitalizes on one of my most extreme hatreds. Adults in mouse ears.

Using the same tech used at Coachella and by Coldplay, Disney now sells a pair of light up mouse ears that, when played within range of the RF broadcasters, responds to world of color. They may also add it for other stuff in the future.

Even though it's a gross new form of merchandising, I have to admit it did look impressive to see all those mouse-ears in synchronization with the show...

It still is a cardinal sin, like fat chicks in party hats, for anyone over the age of 10 to wear ears...

Kidding? It seems like most mouse-ear caps nowadays are made specifically for a target market of purchasers greater than 10 years old. I could see them doing this with Wishes or Fantasmic as well.

About adults wearing mouse ears? No. I literally want to slap them so hard that the ears fall off. It's even worse when they use the chin strap.

You should have been at WDW the last time I was there - more adults were wearing the mouse-ears cap than children....

Hey now, I like my mouse ears even if I'm in my early twenties. Still considered an adult.

I have to agree. Love the extra lightsmindflipper wrote:Even though it's a gross new form of merchandising, I have to admit it did look impressive to see all those mouse-ears in synchronization with the show...
Anyone know how much they are selling the ears for? I would guess it is higher than just a plain set of ears...

Gotta agree with mindflipper here...I thought it was a pretty neat effect.mindflipper wrote:Even though it's a gross new form of merchandising, I have to admit it did look impressive to see all those mouse-ears in synchronization with the show...
I have nothing against adults who wish to wear Mickey (or Minnie) ears. It just shows that there are tons of "kids at heart" and it's part of what Disneyland is all about. Though I don't own many pairs of ears, I wore my golden ears with pride on the 50th.
(and yes, I have been known to use the chin strap because they don't sit right on my head and I don't always have a hair pin )

As much as I enjoy keeping my pimp hand strong, I think I would have then needed to go to physical therapy for tennis elbow and possibly for broken metacarpals.

It is funny that the ears provide enjoyment to others while the wearer cannot see them (if being used as intended) during the show.

Think of the $24 as being a ticket to a "communal experience"...Wizzard419 wrote:It is funny that the ears provide enjoyment to others while the wearer cannot see them (if being used as intended) during the show.

They could at least give you some ecstasy or LSD or something.
