Disneyland changes between 1955 and 2005

Post by agingerbugg » Oct Mon 24, 2011 3:36 pm

Found this on the Disney by Mark blog. It is a modern map of Disneyland with an original map overlay. I've included the link because the image is really really big, but it is interesting to see how much the park has changed.

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

That's interesting ~ I didn't realize the train tracks had been expanded!

Wow! Welcome back to the boards agingerbugg! Long time no see!!!

Awesome image! I can't wait to get to a bigger screen so I can see the details, but the sheer idea of it is sweet!

Thanks MmeLeota, it's good to be back, I've missed it.

It is really interesting to see the way the park has increased over the years. I can't imagine how small the park was when it first opened. I know it is much smaller than the Magic Kingdom at WDW, but it is shocking how small it really was.

Looking at old photos from when DL first opened, it is fun to see how open the park was too since the trees weren't fully grown yet.
