Lead Exposure at DLR

Post by Wizzard419 » Oct Wed 19, 2011 1:21 pm

Apparently some group is claiming that the chains and whatnot are exposing children to too much lead.

My guess is probably coated chains or more of the nylon rope, if they want to comply. They do put a warning up about lead, if I recall, as you enter the property. There is one in the parking structure.

I'm guessing that is why they are saying they are complaint with CA laws...

The compliance requirements are pretty low, the only people who need be concerned are the workers, since they are there every day.

In CA if you go into almost any building older than 20 years, it will have a warning on it, same if the building is build on or near a gas station, electronics company, military base, auto repair place, and most other fabrication things.

Funny my local news channel had a story on this, and yet the shots they showed from "stock footage" was from WDW.

I will just have to remember not to lick the chains at DL, or the lead stained glass windows at Cindy's castle in WDW. :?

Probably a better policy not to lick anything at the Magic Kingdom  Unless it is an ice cream cone ;)
I know you're joking, but It does make you wonder where the consumer's responsibilities come in...and common sense

Personal responsibility, in the western world at least, went away in the 90's or so.

That would assume they are paying attention to what their children are doing  I've seen parents pay absolutely no attention to their children while the kids use the queue rails for all sorts of gymnastics and then tsk when the child invariably hurts themselves falling off ~ after having kicked everyone in the immediate vicinity at least once or twice!
I've also seen kids put their noses and mouths on those filthy germ dispensing queue rails  Ick!

I leave my kids at home when I go to DL anymore. Thier tiny legs cant keep up when I'm madly sprinting from ride to ride. I have a strict no crying in disneyland policy, If broken theey are fed to the Matterhorn yeti.

 Too bad you don't live closer to WDW ~ the kids wouldn't have to worry about being fed to the Expedition Everest Yeti
