Re: Indoor Fantasy Land Rides
No problem Sparten, searching through Disney facts on Google is never a chore And I love finding photos from way back when. I love seeing how people used to get very dressed up to go visit Disney, maybe it was just in the 50's people got dressed up to go anywhere?!
Re: Indoor Fantasy Land Rides
I think that might be it but I think when Disney First opened not alot of people knew what to think of it so they dressed for the occasion. but who knows?

Re: Indoor Fantasy Land Rides
I'm guessing it was a bit of both. If you look at photos from the 50's, people dressed up a lot. Heck, even in the mid to late 70's all of our family photos show our family all spiffied up!Sparten wrote:I think that might be it but I think when Disney First opened not alot of people knew what to think of it so they dressed for the occasion. but who knows?

Like, laying on the ground playing dead? That would be cool if you could post it here!Sparten wrote:Heh My families 70's and 80's photos consist of their band group playing dead in the middle of main street at opening

...possibly true, but do you really want to take a chance that someone is going to rush over and try to give you CPR?Amy wrote:well....I kind of wondered that too, but laying down in the middle of the Main Street would make for a more interesting photo!mindflipper wrote:I think he meant like "dead center" of the road (Main St)....

...or maybe not. It could be a woman. After all, CPR-providers can be either gender...

Agreed. Does anyone know why they never put Alice in Wonderland ride into WDW's Fantasyland?

Re: Indoor Fantasy Land Rides
Because the ride, while unique in design, suffers greatly in the outdoor sections?
Come to think of it, does any fantasy land style dark ride that uses individual cars (outside of peter pan since that is a different configuration) have hills and slopes? Does the peoplemover even have any?
I wonder if it was one of those "We tried it at DLR and it was such a bad idea that we won't do it again" scenarios.
