Trader Sam's Tiki Bar/Tangaroa Terrace
Has anyone heard if they've opened up Trader Sam's Tiki Bar or Tangaroa Terrace Restaurant at the Disneyland Hotel? I used to enjoy spending time at The Lost Bar, but this new theme sounds like it will be popular. I wasn't sure if I should or could make reservations for the bar or for the restaurant. For some reason, I thought it was supposed to have opened around the end of May.

For some reason, I think the Tiki Bar might already be open, but I don't think the Restaurant is yet. Couldn't find any specific open(ing) dates or advice for ressies though...

Both are open from what I saw yesterday. My mom and I took a walk around the hotel and saw the pool and both restaurants.

Thank you! I thought they were supposed to be open. I couldn't find any information, which is why I asked here. I figured they may have done a soft opening to get the timing down. I am making reservations soon, so I'll be sure to ask about that.

From what I saw, it's pretty much a quick service kind of restaurant. You can order on a kiosk and it's mostly burgers, flatbreads and salads.

If you want to go to a real 1960's tiki bar, you could always go to Benjies. ;D

Re: Trader Sam's Tiki Bar/Tangaroa Terrace
I have only fellow fan sites to rely on right now, but all signs point to yes...both are open. I believe Tangaroa Terrace is indeed a quick service location, so no ressies required. I'm not sure about Trader Sam's though. I think it is strictly a bar (though it appears the bar and restaurant share patio seating, so you could probably grab some food and have a drink) and I'm not sure if they will have a reservation system in place there.
If you happen to find out, could you please let us know? We plan on checking it out in August and we're figuring it's gonna be crowded. If ressies might be needed for the bar, we'll make them ahead of time for sure! Thanks!
(Hey Wizz, sounds like a new place to check out for one of your "liquid lunch meetings" )

That's where we go during the summer since DLR is way too busy.

Thanks everyone! I was planning on checking it out in August as well. Sounds like you probably can't get reservations, so it may be hit-and-miss on this trip. We don't really have a tiki bar up here in Minnesota, and this California boy misses that kind of stuff!

Got so many people going in August in this thread - thought about checking dates to see if you can do a meet-up?
It seems like most trip reports are WDW other than MmeLeota's trip reports for DLR. Any chance we can get some more DLR trip reports in August?

I'm debating on if I want to go there for my birthday since it's in August but I'm not sure.
