I'm thinking they may scare off some of the men by naming it the Tinkerbell Marathon?Sleepy90 wrote:Run Disney announced yesterday the new Half Marathon for Disneyland.

Oh my don't let Joe see that one he has been talking about doing the coast to coast, however for us it is a bit difficult not to say expensive but that medal could change his opinion. That is the new one for the original Half so I can't wait to see the new Tinkerbell medal.
Amy and MmeLeota if you are serious about taking up running get yourself an ipod and download couch to 5k in 9weeks. When I decided to start Joe wanted me to go out with him but I did not think that was a good idea after all he has been running for two years. I wanted to take it slowly so I would not lose heart, I had heard about these podcasts so he bought me an ipod and downloaded them into itunes for me. They start real slow and build up in week 5 where I am at the moment I'm up to running 8 mins straight if you had said 5 weeks ago I would have been doing that I would have laughed you out of the county.
My eyes are firmly set on a Disney medal of some sort further down the line but just for now I have my first 5k in July. So if you can dream it you can do it.

No, I know that a medal for running is not in my future, but if they ever do a biking marathon, I'm in!Sleepy90 wrote:Oh my don't let Joe see that one he has been talking about doing the coast to coast, however for us it is a bit difficult not to say expensive but that medal could change his opinion. The new Tinkerbell medal has been unveiled complete with spinning Tink. Someone may be able to post a link I have tried and failed many times. This could make me up my training.

Re: A New Half Marathon for Disneyland
Oh man. If I worked out enough, I would consider this. I hiked about 3.7 miles around Arroyo Seco here in California last night and that was a lot of fun. A marathon? That will take more work.
