Over priced??

If this topic has been thrashed before, I'm sorry in advance.
As I went in to the Golden Horseshoe I saw they were selling a root beer float for $4.59.
I feel this is over priced for like 8oz. of soda and a scoop of ice cream and not even in a souvenir cup.
What do you feel is so grossly over priced in the parks for what you get?

Especially since it's tap water.
I do find that the liquor in the Disney owned parts is usually on par with local places in terms of price, so good news there.

A bottle of soda, too. They're the only place I see it for $3 while my school sells a bottle of soda for about $1.75.

LOL! I can remember when it was 0.50 at my school for soda!

Such is the perk of the captive audience.

That is not just a Disney thing of course. I paid $2.00 for a CAN of soda at a flower show recently.

I would agree with drinks being expensive at the resort, but to be fair, DL still will give you a cup for water for free

Well, the water is free, but you'll have to pay for that cup...

Nope, the cup is free too ~ and they even let you get ice. The places that have pop machines, the water is filtered through there so that free water isn't bad, but where they just give you a glass of water ~ ick...but still free!

I asked for a cup of water once, they handed me the cup an told me the drinking fountain was around the corner.
To be fair, at least some of the scramble food places let you get refills. But you are right the bottled drinks are over priced.

Which location did you go to? If I recall the mint julip bar and the character dining place next to Tomorrowland (I always forget it's name) have the cup activated water fountains.

I believe the prices are about the same as any other amusement park. No different than Knott's or Universal.

The prices aren't too terrible at Universal as far as I know...then again it's been a while since I was at Universal Studios Hollywood. Knott's, I can't really say. I don't go often or Six Flags.
