Talking Mickey Returns

Post by slotofkit » Mar Fri 04, 2011 3:06 pm

If you didn't catch the news last year, Disney's been testing a talking Mickey walk around character that interacts with guests. He was back in the park this week, and here's the breaking news:

I would still be a little creeped out by a talking Mickey but that's just me.

You know, I think that people are saying that, but there's a disconnect seeing it in video. When you see him talking, it is very natural and seems like something they should have had a long time ago.

Now, if there were talking Beast or Happy the dwarf, I'd feel creeped out for some reason. Talking Mickey seems more like an old friend.

I'd have to see him in person and see how I'll react. As long as kids don't get weirded out by it.

Looks cute! I wonder if people will start having problems with Mickey blinking during photos though

I hope not too. But, the Youtube video in the article of Jonathan meets Mickey shows just how special this can be, I think. I really hope Disney does more experiences like this and can make it special for all kids.

I'm surprised that they started with Mickey. I would have guessed they would have started with Goofy as the pilot project
as he is able to be a bit more silly and able to make the kids laugh and enjoy the interaction just a bit more. Looking forward to our next encounter with Mickey now.

I think the reason they started with Mickey is because most of the kids go to see him first. Since you get to meet Mickey in his home in Toontown, I think they picked him first as a test run.

Nope, it's not just you!
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

I'm not surprised they picked Mickey either. He is probably the best known and universally loved character...

Actually, the first time I ever saw it was a few years back when they introduced the talking Mickey (and a talking Goofy) on the Christmas Parade with Regis. I was actually impressed with both.

I think a talking Mickey and Minnie is really cool, it brings Disney to life.

Have a nice day

I agree! It's about time, as they have had AA for such a long time to finally get some Tech with character costumes is past due...
