Closed for today...

Post by G2-4T » May Wed 04, 2005 8:55 am

So just what is going on in the park today that warrents the closing for a full day? It has to be more than just the usual cleaning [heck, it always looks like you could eat off the sidewalk first thing in the morning...] - anyone know what all they are doing?

My understating is that it really isn't "closed" -- just closed to public attendance. They have a private 50th party going on right now. LaughingPlace.com has pictures of some of the private events.

While this is slightly off topic, I do believe we all must say a prayer for the poor CM's who are stuck outside the gates telling people Disneyland is closed today, I can't imagine they are having a good day.

Thanks for the links! I didn't realize what all was going on out there today, sounds impressive though. I imagine it will be a mob scene tomorrow, first the CM's have to turn 'em away then they have to keep from being smothered in them. Glad I'm not doing their job right now!

Anyone know when the last time the park was closed like this was?
Playing tag should be permitted on Tom Sawyer's Island so the guards would stop yelling at me.

Since the park went to a 365 day/year schedule in the early 80s, it has only been closed on 9/11.

Ah, I should have been able to guess that. Thanks.
