Ever been stuck on a ride?
We were at Dland last weekend and got stuck on Space Mountain! In all my years of going (46!), that had never happened before! They turned the lights on and we of course all started taking pictures and video! Very cool to see the "secret inside". A cast member had to manually give every car a push to get us going again, and coast down to the end. We did get to ride again right away, which was nic

Yep. In 1973 or 1974 my brother and I were on Peter Pan at WDW and our boat stopped right in front of the mermaids. We sat in the dark for about 15 minutes. They finally turned off the music soundtrack so we have the indian drums to listen to for another 20 minutes. Then they turned on the overhead lights. Lucky for us our boat was right at one of the numerous staircases and a CM escorted us slowly down the stairs and we got to walk over the cool stuff on the floor to the exit. They gave us an "E" ticket for the inconvenience (a cool deal since Peter Pan was a "C" ticket ride) and we promptly used it on the Haunted Mansion! They had kept our parents, who were waiting at the ride exit, updated at all times. To this day I smile when I hear those drums when I go through the ride.
Step out to your left please. When the car stops, step out to your left.

Re: Ever been stuck on a ride?
Back in the late 70's or early 80's I got stuck on the people mover for over an hour in the second speed tunnel with race cars whipping past us. Some kids tried to move from the back of the train to the front and when they got out they tripped the stop sensor. Why I remember this was just the night before some high school kid did the exact same thing and was crushed and killed doing the same stupid stunt. Eventually we had to walk out. It was kinda fun walking over tomorrow land waving to the people below.

Re: Ever been stuck on a ride?
A few of my most prominent Disney memories happen to be from getting stuck on a ride. All of which were at Disneyland.
I was about nine when I was stuck on Pirates right before the first drop. You could hear the waterfall and the talking Jolly Roger. I was about to scream on the way down, but our boat lurched forward briefly and you hear a light thud. After the buzzkill, I sat there -- being rear ended roughly every two minutes -- until the cast members escorted us out.
Later that day, we were stuck on Snow White's Scary Adventures (at night, mind you) right as we saw the wicked queen peering into the window. Somewhat frightening, but left open some really good photo opportunities since the house lights were tuned on.
A few years later, I went with my cousin and sister to the Haunted Mansion. The ride happened to stop once in the neverending hallway and another time in the attic. I wasn't particularly frightened in the hallway, but slightly creeped out in the attic after hearing "here comes the bride..." for couple minutes. The house lights were left off, so I'm guessing that the cast members were just helping a couple guests onto the ride.

i got stuck on dinosaur once. it was right at the part where the trex screams at u, the ride just stopped for like 10 minutes, it was the last group of the day and i think they didnt realize there were like 3 more cars.... we sat there getting screamed at by the trex over and over with no narration for like 10 minutes then the ride just started up and the people at the exit were like have a nice day , but i think the people after us complained. i just wanted to get out of there.

As mindflipper has pointed out, there is another thread. Let's continue discussion in that thread.
