Yikes, don't tell me that (about the smell or ashes..lol) I plan on eating there when we go in June (2008)! Looks like it will be lunch since the Monte Christo is only served during lunch.....

You can also get the Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans (it's a bit cheaper and just as delicious), but the Blue Bayou has the best atmosphere of any restaurant I've ever seen!
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

I LOVED going to this restaurant because it has such a cool atmosphere. You can go in when its blazing hot outside, and as soon as you step in, you feel like you're eating on the banks of a Lousiana bayou! And you can watch everyone go through the Pirates ride, which is so fun! I didn't like the food so much because I'm a picky eater too but you can find something. The experience is worth it!

Like a lot of Disney restaurants, some of them you have to try just because of the atmosphere. This is one of them!!! I wasn't blown away with the food, but it was a great experience. And, as I recall, my picky Disney daughters did just fine with the menu!

I really like Cafe Orleans. I think you only need to do the BB once and the rest can be Cafe Orleans. It tends to be a lot faster, friendly, and I love sitting out and seeing the river view. But for all you crazy pirates fans, bb is probably better.

You definitely get the discount here. Also, as I've said in my previous posts, the service (and food of course) are truly exceptional. You definitely get what you pay for here. It's not just the atmosphere and experience, but the service and food are truly above and beyond anything else in the park (excluding Club 33).

reservations?

Post by disneydreamer58 » May Thu 08, 2008 3:42 pm

Do you think I need to make lunch reservations when I go, since it's gonna be fathers day weekend?

I would definitely make reservations. The last time I went, it was packed and we had reservations. I saw a lot of people get turned down who did not have reservations. Also when I ate there it was not even a special day (well for me it was) September 1st.

Yes, call now! You can now book reservations 30 (and maybe even 60) days in advance of your visit. Just call Disney Dining at 714.781.3463. I'd suggest setting as near to opening as possible, because you don't have to wait as long and you can get waterfront seating a lot easier.
