Disneyland Hotel Waterfalls
I just saw this thread on MiceChat while searching for information on another topic.
I love the ambience these waterfalls provide (although they are a bit on the noisy side), and personally would hate to see them go.

I haven't noticed them until the latest Micechat update but it would be real sad to see them go. They look real peaceful if you're not sitting up close.

Re: Disneyland Hotel Waterfalls
We enjoyed looking out our hotel window at night and seeing the different colors in the waterfalls...they are super pretty at night and would be missed...
Re: Disneyland Hotel Waterfalls
The last few times I went over there they always seemed to have the lower walkways closed off anyway - maybe they're only open in the mornings. I will be sad to see them go but that area is due for a facelift. And they already ripped the heart of the old area out with the removal of the dancing waters show.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

Re: Disneyland Hotel Waterfalls
I agree horizons1. I was heartbroken when I learned that Fantasy Waters was gone...yet the old fountain still sits there. (I saw a recent picture somewhere)
Do I think the waterfall area could use a facelift? Absolutely!!! There is always so much water on the walkways, it's no wonder they're closed off. But there are ways to remedy that problem without completely yanking them out all together. I suppose we'll have to make it over there for a final goodbye during our next trip.
But I also have to say, several years ago (the last time we were in the falls area) the lower walkways were blocked off too. I can't help but wonder if there is more to the story than Disney is letting on...if there is some sort of structural deterioration occurring, then I completely understand. But it would be nice to have something other than grass put in its place.

I haven't heard about any performances in years...of course I could be mistaken. Anyone out there know for sure?

The comments have mentioned the former Fantasy Waters area. Yesterland has no articles on it but after looking on Mouseplanet, I think they stopped showing it around 2005/2006.

Everything I looked at seemed to indicate the shows stopped in 2006...it was a fun little show...elizabethswann wrote:http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2 ... -makeover/

Re: Disneyland Hotel Waterfalls
It is definitely gone, and 2005/2006 sounds about right.

That's really a shame. I would have loved to see it when it was still there.
