Annual refurbs for Disneyland attractions?

As you may know, I am planning my first Disneyland trip. I want to experience all that I can but I don't want to go and not be able to experience some rides at Disneyland that are not at WDW (Matterhorn, Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio, etc.). So if anyone has any information about all/any refurbs that are always set for a certain time of year, it would help greatly in planning my trip.

Thanks in advance!!!

The way I usually check for rides being down for rehab is on Micechat. I don't know if they really plan it all out every single year or for a certain time. The only ones I know that are regularly going down are Haunted Mansion and It's A Small World to install their holiday overlay.

The Disneyland website is the best place to find out what will be closed. Just click on the "view calendar" link and it lets you know what will be closed in the upcoming months. It's really really helpful.

This link will take you to the Disneyland Resort Calendar. Click on a date and the refurbishment schedule for both DL and DCA will appear on the daily calendar.

Oh! Have fun and say hi to my brickie for me.

Thanks again. If you do hear anything about any rehabs scheduled, could you post it in this thread or in the Disneyland section of the forums? I would appreciate it.

When are you planning your trip for MadEye? (I'm sure I've read it somewhere, but can't remember... )

I don't know exactly. Part of me wants to go January or February next year but another part of me wants to go ASAP. That is why I am asking about refurbs, so I can plan around anything that is scheduled.

The reason I am asking about any annual refurbs is because I know that Splash Mountain at WDW always has a refurb every year around January/February. I know there are a lot of attractions that are not at WDW that I want to experience but I don't know about the schedule at Disneyland.

Makes total sense! January/February tends to be a slower time of year, however many attractions are down for their annual refurbs (pretty much after Labor Day starts the refurbs and HM goes down for the overlay installation). Right now is a crazy time too with all the construction going on. I know summer is a killer time to go, but it's when all the attractions and entertainment is happening. (I know WDW has Fantasmic! but DL's is slightly different)

For instance, the Aladdin show in DCA will be closing in August to make way for the new Toy Story musical...I would hate for anyone to miss the Aladdin show...World of Color should be opening up soon as well as the Silly Symphony Swings. With the opening of WoC, this summer will be especially crazy (and we'll be there in July  )...

I hope this information helped a little...(sorry if it made your decision more difficult though  )

Any info helps. Unfortunately, ASAP for me probably means August or September. Either way, it's way too long... :x

I hear ya!

September will see the beginning of the refurbs, and while attractions like The Matterhorn probably won't be closed (that's usually during the winter), the HM will most likely will be. I agree with what was said before about checking the website's calendar...we used to plan trips around whatever was going to be closed when we would go during the off season.

Unfortunately, the calendar only goes to the end of next month.

Bummer...hmmm, well not sure where to go from here. August will be hot and crowded, but everything should be open. September should be less crowded with closures.

If I hear anyhting, I'll post it here.

The summer time is usually the most crowded with everyone being out of school for summer break. Your best bet is to try and go for the times where people are in school like sometime in September or January, right after a break.

That's what I've been thinking. Those times are usually the slowest here at WDW.
