Bengal Barbeque

Post by MmeLeota » Nov Mon 09, 2009 2:23 pm

Ok, I have a bit of a rant here, so I apologize in advance...

A few years ago, a friend of mine told me to eat at Bengal Barbeque (BB) and that the food was great. I had always ejoyed the smell coming from there, but we just never went to eat.

2 years ago, I had a day to myself in the park and I decided to try it. OMG!!!! The chicken skewer was fabulous and the tiger tails were delicious (nothing like bread off the grill...yum).

Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago....DH and I were waiting for the fireworks and were kinda hungry so I set off to find food. I remembered that he wasn't with me for BB so I figured I'd get a couple of skewers and some tiger tails..easy, right? Wrong!!! I went over there and the menu was all different, and even worse, no tiger tails!!!! (I ended up going over to Stage Door Diner instead) I was so disappointed... :(

Does anyone know why they got rid of the tiger tails/changed the menu @ BB? Or how long ago it happened?

I have yet to eat there. That's one of the places of DL that I've never eaten at but I haven't heard anything on Micechat about a menu change. You could try and ask if they still have it!

Well, when I was there and I looked at the menu, it was different...the basic fare was the same, but they changed some of the items and I think the sauces too (not sure about that one) I wasn't about to wait in the long line either...I had a hungry hubby to attend to ;)

Maybe when we go again, I'll ask around...

I was mostly bummed about the tiger tails though....it could have been a change from over a year ago for all I know.

(btw, thanks for checking MC, I have a hard time keeping up with the masses there. Sub is more manageable :))

I hope that you'll be able to find it or find something else that's equally as good as the tiger tails. Maybe they're trying out something new for a little while and if the feedback isn't well then they could bring it back. Who knows!

I check MC daily and whatever good I find, I post in the DCA Expansion thread.

Nooooooooooooooo! I loved tiger tails. And the menu items were great! I haven't eaten there in quite a while I guess. Doesn't seem like that long, but I do remember them having all the items that they've had for so long.

I'm hoping Ms. Swann is right in that they are temporarily trying out something new to see the response.

I Love the BB and would be very disapointed if they changed the menu. Wow it's been a long time since I posted anything! :)

Yes during my Halloween visit I noticed the menu was different but I thought as saw the tails still be served.

YES, the skewers rock. I think its my top quick food stop at DL.

I swear I didn't see them on the menu...but with it being crowded and low light and I was in a hurry, perhaps I just missed them...maybe they are called something else now?

If someone can confirm, please let me know...

Everytime I go to DL and pass by BB I tell myself I need to stop there and try it. I still have not eaten there too this day as I always seem to forget. I can agree the smell is fantastic.

I found an updated menu from this month and my guess is that they did take it off the menu: http://themouseforless.com/tripplanning ... ecue.shtml

Well, I did see them on the menu on the site, but there's 2 different prices listed. I'm wishing I had paid more attention to see if I overlooked them. Dang!

Thanks for posting Ms. Swann!
