Star tours...refurb

Star tours will go under a refurbish. It will be now in 3D with an all new video. Opens in 2011. Announced at D23 convention.

Wow it looks like all the rumors behind this were indeed true. This is a much needed refurb for a great attraction that has just aged terribly. I personally now wonder if all of the work for Star Tours II was really being done in the old Body Wars. Seems like a relatively small closing frame which makes me wonder as to what exactly will be redone.

It's about time. I rode the WDW version this past Labor Day, and some of the film's effects (I'm looking at you, comets!) are just embarrassing, the kind of thing that would have been done in the 1980s on a TV budget. Maybe the recession has shaken Disney out of its complacency a little bit and made them realize that they need to give people reasons to keep coming back to the parks.
