Should we take the time to go see the Aladdin musical? The music I've heard from it sounds pretty cool...

The staging and costumes were really interesting. Of course, you know the story and the music. It was a good show.

I said yes because it is just hilarious. If anything you will have a good laugh. Granted there are sappy moments but hey it's a Musical.

Oh bummer, that post didn't work. Hopefully it doesn't reappear somewhere later!

I said yes, definitely if you like musicals. It's a high caliber show, just as good as many I've seen traveling from Broadway.

Aladdin has been there so long, I find myself wishing for something new, but afraid it might be High School Musical or Jonas Brothers (scary!).

I've never gotten a chance to see it but I'd love to eventually if they don't replace it with another musical anytime soon.

It's been a long time since I've seen it but I remember it being fun. Why not go?!

Yes it is worth seeing. It is a great show and well put together. The theater is nice and cool with comfy chairs. A great show to enjoy while taking a load off of your feet and cooling off (when it's hot).

I guess it's just out of WDW-based habit that I'm asking. As in (back in the day) when we were planning for a week long trip to all 4 WDW parks, we decided to miss the Pocahontas show because people didn't really like it. I'm used to there being more of a time crunch, but there's not as much of a time crunch with Disneyland!

Yes, definitely. Yah, we all know the movie, but I bet you've seen it more than once (an understatement?). ...and you'd watch it again. Well, I know I have and would.

The play/musical is a great production. We've had the joy of watching it on 2 different visits and very much enjoyed it both times. Genie is HILARIOUS!

Also when it comes to the acting Disneyland has Hollywood in the area so they have an extremely large pool of people to choose from. I think that is one reason the shows are usually better.

The Aladdin show is definitely one of the big highlights of DCA...I don't know how you could judge the park properly without seeing the show. It's EXTREMELY well-done for a free, 45 minute stage version of the movie, and it has a repeatability factor because the Genie is allowed to change up his lines and even ad-lib some things. Although I've never seen any of the WDW shows, from what I've heard from show recordings and whatnot, Aladdin is far superior to anything there, with the slight exception of Finding Nemo. It adapts very well from movie to stage and even has a new song that isn't in the movie.

It's a must see. I always try to see it every 6 months or so. The Genie seems to update his ad libbed jokes according to pop culture and its a fresh show each time.

It is a very good musical (totally funny) and anyone going to the Cali Adventure should see it at least once :) - blue

The musical is great if you're going for a multi-day trip. If you've only got one day and you're trying to jam pack everything in, then I might say no. It does have great air conditioning, though, so if you're in the middle of the heat of the day, I'd say absolutely go for it.

Great show, good production values, very entertaining. Worth it.

Post-trip review:

We only did DCA for a half-day so we decided to do Toy Story, Soarin', ToT, and Aladdin as our must-sees and fit in the Muppets. Aladdin was FANTASTIC! Definitely the highlight of the day. We were dying laughing from Genie. It was great and that plus our 3 must-see rides make the park worth going to, but the park as a whole was a disappointment for me.
