Goodbye McDonalds

Post by chefbuns » Oct Thu 09, 2008 10:22 am

As I understand it, there will be no more McDonalds at DL. Or anywhere else Disney as a matter of fact. There is a dissolution of partnership going on between Disney and McDonalds. I never did eat the fries but I used to see a ton of people walking around with the containers of fries.

I always wanted another restaurant at Downtown Disney. I'm not a McDonalds person to begin with. I hope they put something better in.

I guess im in the minority on this one. I for one actually enjoyed having the mcdonalds fries while waiting in line at splash mountain or wherever that may be. It was the perfect snack for just passing the time away. I was a bit upset to see it go, but im hoping they replace it with something better. Maybe more dole whip stations??

I also enjoyed the fries because theirs wasn't so salty and soggy as what you'd find at a typical McDonald's restaurant but the other part of me is glad that they're gone so they could put something new and better as what billville said. It's better, too, because I know my sister got sick from eating the McDonald's in DCA once and we never ate there again after that.

does this also apply to WDW? there are several outlets in the parks, as well as at least 2 full restaurants on property...

I wonder if the one at Downtown Disney will remain. I was ok with that, but the ones inside the parks always bugged me. And this is coming from someone who refers to McDonald's as "The Second Happiest Place On Earth"

hmm i always thought McD's cheapened the parks... the whole "removal from the outside world" kinda ideal. Seeing McDonalds was kind of jarring to me... although my sister got sick at the McD's at DCA... raw hamburgers :(

Is it sad that other than the fries by Big Thunder, I never noticed any other McDonalds stuff in the park. How funny :) - blue

Wow, guess I really haven't been there in awhile - I didn't know McD's had infiltrated beyond Downtown Disney... :|

We're not big McDonalds fans, so it surprised us that they are all over WDW. They have a restaurant in the AK by Dinosaur (Retaurantosaurus), and they have a booth in Epcot beside the Canada Pavilion (the Refreshment Port). At the DHS, there's a fry stand called Fairfax Fries. I'm not sure if they are "McDonald's" fries, or not. I'm not aware of any McDonalds in the MK, unless the Frontier Fries stand is theirs. Of course, there's one at Downtown Disney, and there's one near the All-Stars.

When we went in July to MK we saw a McDonald's fry stand but I cannot remember where exactly? Fantasyland perhaps? My son didn't eat anything at Crystal palace the night we ate there and we got him fries as a snack credit.

Yes, I think there is one in Fantasyland at MK.
