CHOC walk?

Post by Shinku » Oct Sun 05, 2008 5:27 pm

Is anyone doing CHOC walk this year besides me?

For those unfamiliar with the event, Children's Hospital Orange County holds a fundraising walk through DL and DCA. All the money raised goes to the hospital and kids, not just to people's salaries or something--it's all for a really, really good cause. More information can be found here: http://www.chocwalk.org/pages.cfm?id=58

It's a 5k, which sounds daunting, but is really just one lap of each park. Honestly, I do at least that on a normal trip to the parks, so I'm up for the challenge. (If anyone would like to sponsor me, my link is here: https://www.chocforms.org/chocwalk/2008 ... m&ID=59167 )

If you've ever had a sick kid, known a sick kid, or been hospital-worthy sick, I'm sure you understand how heartbreaking the entire experience can be. CHOC accepts and treats patients regardless of the family's ability to pay. It's a privatized hospital so fundraisers like this are of critical importance to making sure that patients get the necessary care.

I'd love to have a pre-walk meetup/group photo if there's any other subsonic-ers walking this year.
