I'd say it was just them but I went to see a show at the great park (massive air station converted into a park) and normally parking is free but as there was a show to see the cost to park on a slab of asphault (or anywhere) becomes $10.

I'm pretty sure it happens every single August as far as I know. It'll only be a matter of time before it hits a hundred bucks.

Does this mean you like the plain HM better than HMH?Akyriel wrote:HM > HMH

I actually like both. I see the HM every time I go, so to have the HMH would gives something new and different. Now if they would only bring it to WDW...

Re: Haunted Mansion Holiday
When they first did HMH (2001, I think) I was afraid to like it too much out of fear that the suits would keep it that way and never return the mansion to its rightful state. As the years go by, I find that I embrace the change for the holidays and I really do enjoy both versions. (Though the original will always have the edge)

Re: Haunted Mansion Holiday
The Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite attractions. I was excited when we got to go to Disneyland to see the HMH as my Mom loves Nightmare Before Christmas. She and I both absolutely loved it
I would be hard pressed to say which one I like better, but I think I enjoy HMH just a tad bit more since it is more colorful. It is more musical too I think.

I think each - HM and HMH - needs to be enjoyed own their own merits and not in comparison. I feel the same about HM and PM. While the Manor is much alike the HM, it has things that make it uniquely distinct. Relax and just enjoy the ride...

Even though I think PM is the best version so far (waiting on Mystic Manor) the funny part is that a lot of the animatronics used in PM are recycled, the most notible being the mayor being the dreamfinder.

Re: Haunted Mansion Holiday
You do know that Phantom Manor opened with the rest of EuroDisney back in 1992, and that the original Journey Into Imagination at EPCOT ended in October 1998? They may have used the same face type (like they did when they copied pirates faces as the duelists when they were working on the Haunted Mansion), but they did not actually recycle the audio-animatronic from one attraction to the other.
