The club is closing on January 6th, 2014. January 5th will be the last day of service, and I am willing to bet that it will be booked by members that weekend. It will reopen sometime in the summer.Amy wrote:We didn't have any luck finding a connection to get in, and I think it will be closed for remodeling when we are there anyhow

Re: Club 33 - SCORE!
What a weird day to close, mid-week rather than on the following Monday (since NYE is that weekend).
I wonder what the consolation will be for the members? I know whenever the NHL had strikes Disney (and subsequent team owners) provided various non-monetary reparations to the suite holders at the pond. They will give you everything, except a refund for services not rendered.

January 6th is a Monday, unless I am looking at the wrong calendar. The last day would be Sunday. Looks like Club members will have exclusive access to the Hollywood Room at Carthay Circle during the refurbishment and expansion.

Well shoot. The Club is still open while we are there. No matter, still no connections but now I feel a tiny bit worse since I thought it wasn't even a possibility at allClub33Hopeful wrote:The club is closing on January 6th, 2014. Re: Club 33 - SCORE!
I am not pleased with Club 33 now that they are getting rid of my favorite hangout in Disneyland: Court des Anges in favor of turning it into their new lobby. It will be ridiculous especially because the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour took guests into the lobby through the door for a neat experience so now that whole experience will be ruined.

What would be ruined? I would imagine the lobby would still remain off limits and on the tour, and the old door would most likely still be functional, just now as another exit.

The tour must have changed since we took it as we most definitely didn't get to see anything of the inside of Club 33elizabethswann wrote:I am not pleased with Club 33 now that they are getting rid of my favorite hangout in Disneyland: Court des Anges in favor of turning it into their new lobby. Yeah, I can't imagine the tour changing up because of the shutdown, but it's still disappointing to lose one of the quiet areas of the park.

They might take it out of the rotation if they are going to be doing stuff in there as it would not be as interesting to see stuff covered in tarps.
Re: Club 33 - SCORE!
Tell that to Dateline Disney and their weekly coverage of everything covered with tarps.

They do love their tarps, butt-hurt, and probably taking credit for preventing things that didn't happen. They are the TSA of Disney.

I figured it out! Here are the first couple pictures from our Club 33 lunch in June 2013!
Myself and my parents outside 33!

Of course I kept my gin and tonic Club 33 drink stick!

We had the most amazing corner table right here! With the door open and the sounds of New Orleans Square...
