How do you make your way through the park?

Post by alexac17 » Feb Sat 02, 2008 9:15 pm

So one of my best friends was telling me before I went to Disneyland last summer exactly how I should hit all the rides for maximum ride time and minimum wait. How do you guys make your way through the park?

i usually start at adventureland then work my way around the park. best way to do it is to get fastpasses for space mountain, splash mountain, indiana jones and autopia ahead of time because those four are the the ones i know that have the longest waits. go to pirates sometime in the morning or wait until fantasmic time because that's always a perfect way to go on it.

We take note of where most of the people seem to be going and then go a different direction riding each ride and grabbing a fast pass for the ones that have them as we make our way around the park.

human nature is to "go right"... a lot of people know this now and try to conscientiously go left... so maybe straight, when you meet the crowd, eat lunch or take a break until they pass.

We ususally head to adventureland or tomorrowland, depending on the mood we're in. If you're worried about wait times, definitely hit up Indiana Jones and the Subs later in the day, as the rides are much shorter (usually Indy is a walk on past 8 or 9pm, but 1-2+ hours during the day). It's a wonderful idea to have a member of your party go off and get fastpasses when the rest of the party is waiting in line, as it's a great way to maximize free time (instead of everone having to get a fastpass after the ride).

Straight to Frontierland, and through to New Orleans Square. If that doesn't look good I head to toontown via the reverse parade route. But it really depends on how the crowds are.

So does Nemo tend to slow down? I have only been once since it was open and it was more than 2 hours unless it was the first thing I rode.

last time i was there was in December the week right before Christmas. It was crowded on the Saturday and the Sunday. But on Monday the crowds lifted and that was the end of the long lines for Nemo.

Sat. - Sun. average 60-90 minutes
Mon. - Wed. 30-45 minutes (actual was more like 20-25)

Nemo's usually the one with the longest wait time since it's still new. I'd say wait until maybe around the parade or fireworks time to ride it.

My wife heads to Alice in Wonderland while I detour to Space Mountain and grab FastPasses. We ride Alice, Matterhorn, Mr. Toad, Peter Pan, Snow White, and Pinocchio. Then we pass Big Thunder (grabbing FPs) on our way to Indy, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, and usually Winnie the Pooh (since we're over there) and grab Splash Mountain FPs. Then it's off to Tomorrowland to use our Space FPs, ride Buzz and Star Tours, and the rest of the day is grabbing/using FPs and re-riding what we like best.

I usually start with a Space FP, then hit Star Tours or Buzz on my way over to Indy, Pirates, HM and Splash. After that, it's usually lunch in Frontierland/Fantasyland, swing back over to Space, then whatever we want to do.

We usually start in Tomorrowland and work our way around the park but lately I have been going straight to IJA to get a fastpass and then go to Tomorrowland...

This isn't really a plan, but I do follow these general tips:

- Avoid Fantasyland until after the last parade and/or fireworks.
- Don't do Pirates or Haunted Mansion until after dark (always less crowded.)
- Fastpass is a must for Space Mountain and Indy.
- Jungle Cruise wait times are unpredictable, but generally longer during the day.
- Do Big Thunder during Fantasmic or during a parade.
- Don't be afraid to criss-cross the park (it's not that big), although be mindful of parade times so as to avoid roadblocks (I miss the Skyway in these times!)
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

Hey guys. I may have posted this somewhere before but here's how I do DL. I usually start by taking the DLRR around the park just to get a view of what's open that day. Then I usually veer left down MS and continue counter-clockwise. Sometimes if I'm lucky I get a chance to try a few things before the crowds get too unruly. Well, maybe it's not too proactive but it works for me. Later, peace.
