The mallaboomer will be demolished in a few months. They are closing it for the more "Kid approch" to DCA. They will be replaceing it with a parachute rid much like Knotts old ride.
RIP

Mallaboomer

I Know it is very sad. When I first heard about it I did not think it was true but then I checked with 2 other soures and it has been confirmed.

Hi ya drivers Im Dusty the autopia car. For a safe drive remember to stay seated with your seat belt fastened.

I think the question was, what are your sources?

I have also heard that it will be removed, but have heard nothing about what, if anything, will replace it.

I think it was being demolished to make way for the new DVC villas being put in at DCA. I believe they were going in that corner of the park.

As I alluded to in another thread:
viewtopic.php?p=56190#56190
The maliboomer will be turned into a park of sorts, to provide shade to guests and tables and benches to sit at like around the hub.

Okay. Thanks. Now I remember. I've only been to DL once, when my daughters were 5 and 8. We skipped a lot of stuff. My girls are WDW experts and now want to return to DL, mostly because my youngest remembers not being able to enjoy Indiana Jones. Anyway, I hate to see stuff disappear before we get back there!

I'm sad about the Maliboomer leaving

. Also, it's named Maliboomer after Malibu, so that's a good way to remember the correct way to spell it

. At the very least, it was always a good landmark and a fun ride for people to watch and be afraid of. I think most people enjoy the fact that there's one ride at the park that you're too scared to ride, or it seems like something that kids can look forward to when they're older. I also liked the view of the park and the surrounding area you got at the top it. I'll miss you buddy

Kinda sad to see it go before I got the nerve up to ride it. I will miss watching my family ride it. But, that said I can't wait to see the new area when it is finished.

I can't say I'll be sad to see this leave. Way too common carnival ride and nothing special for a Disney park. Now, if they put it indoors...
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.
