I love the shape, but I'm not sold on the weird burgundy color. I should probably see how it works for the whole train before making a decision on that though.

I could be wrong (and probably am) but I believe the original monorail was that burgandy color when it first opened. Then, they changed the trains to look alot more like the WDW trains (Mark V, I believe). Now they're going back to the roots with the retro look, yet still keeping to the present/future.

LaughingPlace has a time-lapse video of the entire monorail being hoisted up onto the beam and put into the maintenance building..

That looks very cool.

Figures I miss it by only a day or two. Man That does look so much better than the current ones, especially since they now have the stupid Year Of A Million Dreams paint scheme (they look exactly the same no red, green, or blue

). I can't wait to see what they look like in person though.........darn now I have to plan a trip again

Wow, looks really nice and sleek. I like the new colors scheme and the blue tinted windows.
Agreed, the current monorails with the festive streamers and things look so tacky.

Dig it mucho! I really like the new design. Thanks for the video ACP! I like the design a lot. It seems very new and updated, but still a perfect evolution of previous designs. It looks like they have been able to make the Monorail "cooler" (and I think you'd notice the change, even if you had not heard of it before seeing it) while still making it look quintessentially monorail.
I just saw the pictures of Mark I Monorail at Yesterland:

It looks like they're definitely paying homage to the original, and in great form.

Cool video thanks for sharing it. I like the new design and color. Can't wait to ride it! I am planning a DL trip in June 2008 when I go to my nephews graduation out in Cali. Can't wait!!

Very cool, while I don't mind the current monorails the wrap job for Million Dreams just don't cut it for me. Now these look cool, retro-futuristic done right! Will be neat to see the whole train together and in action. Cruising over the subs - that should look great. More photos at:

Ooh, it looks nice. I'd take those over the ones for the Million Dreams.

Dig it! I'd love to see the same style at WDW.

It seems like they've kept main body the same and just changed nose, but I love it, and color scheme too. They look just like the concept art I've seen. I can't wait to take a ride in the cab.

And film it right? Just the thought of it coming into Tomorrowland station gives me goosebumps.
