Snowcapped Castle, What Do You Think?
I was just wondering what everyone thinks of the snow capped castle? Mostly, I am wondering what everyone thinks of it just during the regular day. I know that it improves as the evening goes on, but during the day I am having a flashback to the birthday cake castle of 10 years ago. EEEWWWW!

I totally agree at night it is BEAUTIFUL! But during the day it almost looks like someone poured white paint on parts of the castle. I don't know maybe I just need to get used to it. But at night with the FULL effect it is awesome!!!!

I will be out there later this month, so I'm not passing judgement until I see it first hand.

There are pictures from this site I normally go on here. Don't mind the commentary on the bottom. It's normal for the site to do that to provide humor.js3901 wrote:pictures? I haven't seen this (besides cinderella's castle at WDW with the lights).

well, during the day it looks alot different, and better, IMHO. the lights at night just seem a bit lacking to me, and the WDW version looks so much better. But, during the day, DLR looks more festivecapnjacksparrow wrote:There are pictures from this site I normally go on here. Don't mind the commentary on the bottom. I'm originally from New York. When I first moved to California, the biggest shock was Xmas trees. I would drive by tree lots to see hundreds of xmas trees sweltering in the heat, alot of them flocked in snow (colored too, red, purple etc.).
I guess you get used to it....
My neatest Xmas was in Kauai, driving past Xmas decorations right next to the Pacific Ocean, on this island paradise, was cool (Nite).
To qualify, all Xmas decorations look better @ nite, especilly when you don't have snow

I've only seen pictures, but from those pictures the snow just looks... bad. I can't tell if there's too much or too little, but it looks extremely fake to me. I think it might be the unnatural way it's scattered on the roof; like they painted diagonal white lines across it. They should have just put some near the eaves. I don't know... I'm sitting here staring at it trying to figure out what it is that I don't like about it, but I can't put my finger on it.
It looks good at night in the pictures, but I guess that's conflicting with what other people say who have seen it in person. I guess it's one of those things that only looks good in person...?
I'm not saying Disney does a bad job portraying snow either, because at Blizzard Beach, unless you actually touch the snow, it's hard to believe it's fake.
I just don't know about this castle. I think I'm overthinking it...
I've decided that my opinion does not matter on this issue.

I have yet to check it out in person. I can't even remember the last time I was at DLR during the holiday times, but it does look nice in the pictures.js3901 wrote:well, during the day it looks alot different, and better, IMHO. the lights at night just seem a bit lacking to me, and the WDW version looks so much better. Oh, the first one looks beautiful. Now I'm desperate to go again, but I don't think I'll be going to the DLR until February.Dr. Ravenscroft wrote:I like this picture better, it looks classy:capnjacksparrow wrote:There are pictures from this site I normally go on here. the towers in that second one look like those non-perilil (sp?) things (the little chocolate discs with the white sugar balls on top)Dr. Ravenscroft wrote: I like this picture better, it looks classy:
